  • • Investment Analyst at Global Talent Co. supports financial analysis, catalog valuation, and transaction execution for music rights portfolios, playing a critical role in helping artists and rights holders maximize the value of their intellectual property through strategic, private transactions.
  • • The role contributes directly to high-stakes advisory work by evaluating music catalog investments, building valuation models, and preparing materials that inform decisions in private equity-style deals involving music assets.
  • • Day to day, the analyst will analyze financial performance and revenue streams across music catalogs, including royalty income, licensing, and other monetization sources to assess asset health and growth potential.
  • • They will build and maintain complex financial models in Excel to evaluate investment opportunities, projecting cash flows, conducting scenario analysis, and calculating net present value and internal rate of return for various deal structures.
  • • The analyst will conduct valuation analyses using discounted cash flow (DCF) models, precedent transactions, and comparable company analysis to determine fair market value of music rights portfolios.
  • • They will assess risk factors, revenue sustainability, and long-term performance drivers of catalogs, including genre diversification, artist activity, and territorial revenue exposure.
  • • In deal support, the analyst will prepare investment memorandums, transaction summaries, and pitch materials used in discussions with potential buyers, investors, and partners.
  • • They will support due diligence processes by reviewing financial statements, royalty statements, licensing agreements, and other documentation to verify accuracy and identify risks.
  • • The analyst will analyze bids, offers, and deal structures, comparing terms and advising on optimal transaction outcomes based on financial and strategic criteria.
  • • They will conduct ongoing market and industry research, tracking music catalog transaction volumes, valuation multiples, and emerging trends in the music rights investment landscape.
  • • This includes analyzing comparable deals, monitoring private and public market activity, and maintaining a database of transaction benchmarks for internal use.
  • • The analyst will maintain and update valuation and revenue projection models, ensuring they reflect current performance data and macroeconomic assumptions.
  • • They will consolidate financial data from multiple sources, including royalty collectors, publishers, and internal systems, to create unified views of catalog performance.
  • • Regularly, they will prepare internal investment reports and presentations for the advisory team, summarizing findings, risks, and recommendations for upcoming transactions.
  • • The analyst will collaborate closely with senior advisors, deal leads, and external stakeholders such as lawyers, accountants, and tax specialists to ensure transaction readiness.
  • • They will contribute to process improvement by refining valuation methodologies, template materials, and analytical frameworks used across engagements.
  • • The role offers exposure to high-net-worth clients, complex intellectual property assets, and sophisticated financial structuring in a niche but growing alternative investment market.

🎯 Requirements

  • • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or a related field
  • • 2+ years of experience in investment analysis, investment banking, private equity, consulting, or corporate finance
  • • Strong financial modeling and Excel skills, including experience with DCF, comps, and LBO modeling
  • • Experience evaluating investments or financial assets, particularly in assessing cash flow sustainability and risk
  • • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with ability to interpret complex financial data and draw actionable insights
