📋 Description
- • This residency offers senior investment banking professionals a unique opportunity to shape the future of AI in finance by applying their expertise to evaluate and improve frontier AI systems in high-stakes financial contexts.
- • Day-to-day responsibilities include developing realistic prompts to test AI-generated insights, comparing human vs. machine judgment in M&A, ECM, DCM, and leveraged finance, designing frameworks that translate senior banker deal evaluation into AI reasoning challenges, and constructing expert benchmarks using real-world transaction analyses and valuation frameworks.
- • Mentis AI operates at the intersection of institutional finance and frontier AI, combining deep financial services experience from firms like Lazard and Partners Group with applied AI research, collaborating with leading AI labs across London and San Francisco to enhance how models reason in complex financial scenarios.
- • Participants will gain hands-on exposure to how AI is transforming deal workflows, earn early practical experience in guiding AI reasoning about transaction structuring and valuation, and position themselves at the forefront of AI adoption in investment banking and capital markets.
🎯 Requirements
- • 3–7 years of experience in investment banking or capital markets at a bulge bracket or elite boutique (e.g., Goldman Sachs, Morgan Stanley, J.P. Morgan, Bank of America, Citi, Barclays, UBS, Deutsche Bank, Wells Fargo, Evercore, Moelis, Centerview, Lazard, Jefferies)
- • Associate, VP, or Director level across M&A, industry coverage, ECM/DCM, leveraged finance, or syndicate
- • Deep expertise in at least one of: M&A deal structuring and valuation, equity or debt capital markets execution, sector-specific coverage, or syndicate/book-running
- • Strong financial modeling skills (including LBO, 3-statement, DCF) and comfort with complex transaction analysis, fairness opinions, and client-facing materials
- • Ability to articulate investment banking judgment clearly and precisely in writing
- • Genuine intellectual curiosity about the application of AI in financial services
