- • Own and manage the internal IT ticket queue, responding to end-user incidents, problems, and service requests with prompt resolution across endpoints, servers, and applications.
- • Troubleshoot hardware, software, and networking issues for employees and internal systems, ensuring minimal downtime and reliable operations.
- • Install, configure, maintain, and administer servers, operating systems, and business applications to support daily organizational functions.
- • Onboard new employees by provisioning appropriate technical solutions, accounts, software, and access permissions, including troubleshooting setup issues.
- • Prepare and maintain detailed operating procedures for technical support, troubleshooting, and routine systems administration tasks.
- • Monitor security events and alerts using SIEM tools and other security technologies as part of the Security Operations Center (SOC) team when capacity allows.
- • Analyze and triage security alerts to assess severity, potential impact, and required response, escalating critical incidents to appropriate teams.
- • Perform initial incident response activities for security events, documenting all actions and resolutions in alignment with SOC protocols.
- • Collaborate with the SOC team to contribute to security documentation, procedures, and continuous improvement of detection and response workflows.
- • Support operational and technical requirements for server location, installation, operation, and maintenance across internal and client-facing environments.
- • Work within Apollo Aegis platform tools and the full suite of managed security, advisory, and compliance services used to serve state/local government, K-12, higher education, and mid-market clients.
- • Maintain clear, professional communication with end users and internal stakeholders, ensuring tickets are updated, users are informed, and no issues fall through the cracks.
- • Shadow SOC analysts during alert monitoring shifts to learn detection logic, escalation thresholds, and incident documentation standards before independently handling SOC duties.
- • By 90 days, own the IT ticket queue as the primary responder and begin performing SOC Analyst I responsibilities during available capacity.
- • By 180 days, become the go-to resource for IT operations with a clean, well-documented ticket queue and contribute meaningfully to SOC operations on a regular basis.
- • Draft or improve at least one IT or SOC procedure document that is adopted by the team to enhance operational efficiency or security posture.
- • Support SOC shift coverage as needed, including non-standard hours, to ensure continuous monitoring and response capability.
- • Maintain familiarity with cloud platforms including Microsoft 365, Azure, and AWS, and apply best practices in identity, access, and infrastructure management.
- • Use scripting languages such as PowerShell, Bash, or Python to automate routine IT tasks and improve system reliability.
- • Work in a fast-paced, remote-first environment with a hub in Denver, balancing IT administration duties with growing SOC responsibilities.
🎯 Requirements
- • Minimum 2 years of experience in IT/systems administration, helpdesk, or a related field
- • Knowledge of systems administration: operating systems, applications, and computer hardware/software configuration and troubleshooting
- • Proficiency with networking concepts, protocols, and security principles
- • Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., M365, Azure, AWS)
- • Basic scripting skills (e.g., PowerShell, Bash, Python)
- • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with ability to prioritize in a busy ticket queue
