Full Job Description
đź“‹ Description
- • Own the entire technology ecosystem for Tijerina Legal Group, P.C.—a fast-growing law firm where every system you touch directly impacts the lives of thousands of clients. As IT Director you will architect, secure, and scale a modern cloud-first environment that keeps attorneys focused on winning cases instead of wrestling with tech.
- • Lead day-to-day operations of Microsoft 365, Azure IaaS/PaaS, hybrid networking, SAN storage, and redundant internet (including Starlink) to guarantee 99.9 % uptime for 200+ concurrent users across multiple offices. You will document every subnet, VLAN, conditional-access rule, and failover script so the environment is transparent, auditable, and recoverable within minutes—not hours.
- • Act as the firm’s de-facto CISO, hardening endpoints with CrowdStrike Falcon, enforcing zero-trust policies, and running quarterly penetration tests. Translate complex NIST and state-bar cybersecurity guidelines into plain-language policies that attorneys actually follow, then prove compliance through SOC 2-style evidence packages.
- • Supervise the Salesforce Service Cloud instance that powers every personal-injury case from intake to settlement. You will own data hygiene, Apex triggers, Flow automation, and integrations with DocuSign, NetDocuments, and Power BI so paralegals gain real-time dashboards instead of static spreadsheets.
- • Negotiate and govern relationships with Managed Service Providers, cloud vendors, ISPs, and SaaS providers. You will write SLAs that demand 15-minute response times for P1 incidents, hold quarterly business reviews, and terminate under-performers without drama.
- • Mentor and grow a lean but ambitious IT team—currently one IT Supervisor and two junior engineers—through weekly one-on-ones, certification roadmaps (Azure, Security+, Salesforce Admin), and a blameless post-mortem culture that turns outages into learning labs.
- • Design and rehearse disaster-recovery playbooks that cover ransomware, hurricanes, and accidental mass-deletes. Quarterly tabletop exercises and live failovers to Azure Site Recovery will ensure the firm can file emergency motions even if the McAllen office is underwater.
- • Translate business goals into a rolling 18-month technology roadmap. Present to the executive committee in business English: “By Q3 we will cut e-discovery costs 30 % via Azure Cognitive Search” rather than “We’re upgrading to the latest SKU.”
- • Champion continuous improvement: automate user provisioning with Azure AD Lifecycle Workflows, replace VPNs with Entra ID Global Secure Access, and pilot AI-driven legal analytics that surface settlement trends partners never knew existed.
- • Stay ahead of emerging threats and opportunities—evaluate Copilot for legal drafting, negotiate Microsoft E5 discounts, and ensure the firm is first in the region to adopt whatever gives clients a competitive edge.
🎯 Requirements
- • 8+ years progressive IT leadership, including at least 3 years directing cloud infrastructure (Azure preferred) in a compliance-heavy environment
- • Hands-on expertise with Microsoft 365, Entra ID, Azure networking, and security services; Azure Solutions Architect or Security Engineer Associate certification strongly preferred
- • Proven record designing and enforcing cybersecurity frameworks (NIST, CIS, or ISO 27001) plus experience with CrowdStrike or equivalent next-gen endpoint protection
- • Demonstrated success administering Salesforce Service Cloud or similar CRM—certified Admin or Advanced Admin a plus
- • Experience negotiating and managing MSP/vendor contracts with measurable SLAs and penalty clauses
- • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, MIS, or related field; JD or legal-industry experience is a nice-to-have but not required
🏖️ Benefits
- • 100 % remote-first culture with quarterly on-site strategy sessions in sunny McAllen, TX (travel covered)
- • Annual professional-development budget of $5,000 for certifications, conferences, and advanced training
- • Flexible PTO policy—minimum 20 days encouraged, plus firm-wide mental-health days
- • Premium medical, dental, and vision insurance fully paid for employee and 75 % for dependents
- • 401(k) with 6 % dollar-for-dollar match, immediate vesting, and optional after-tax Mega Backdoor Roth
- • Performance bonus up to 20 % of base salary tied to uptime, security posture, and user-satisfaction metrics
