📋 Description

• As an IT Operations Automation Engineer at Hopper Inc., you will be a pivotal technical solutions expert, entrusted with the critical responsibility of developing, facilitating, and overseeing automation initiatives within Hopper's IT Operations. This role is designed for a "first-principles" thinker, someone who possesses the unique ability to deconstruct complex technical challenges into their fundamental elements. You will then meticulously rebuild these processes using automated logic, thereby driving significant advancements in operational maturity and efficiency across the organization. Your contributions will directly impact how IT services are delivered, secured, and managed, ensuring scalability and reliability as Hopper continues its rapid global expansion.
• Your day-to-day responsibilities will be multifaceted and engaging. A core aspect of your role will involve building and maintaining critical automation platforms, with a specific focus on developing an Automation Service Gateway. This gateway will serve as the standardized mechanism through which various services are exposed and secured within IT Operations, ensuring a consistent and secure operational environment. You will also be tasked with proactively identifying opportunities where automation can enhance existing processes or introduce entirely new, more efficient workflows. This will involve developing new processes that adhere to the highest best practices for development, rigorous testing, and seamless implementation, ensuring that automation solutions are robust and reliable.
• A significant part of your contribution will be in partnering closely with various stakeholders across the organization. Your objective will be to collaboratively replace manual, time-consuming workflows with scalable, compliance-driven systems. This requires not only technical expertise but also strong communication and collaboration skills to understand business needs and translate them into automated solutions. Furthermore, you will be expected to provide essential Tier 2 and Tier 3 support and troubleshooting for the automation platforms and related systems. This includes coordinating effectively with external vendors and internal teams to resolve any elevated support issues, ensuring minimal disruption to operations and maintaining high service levels.
• The role also offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the strategic direction of IT Operations automation. By applying a "first-principles" approach, you will challenge existing paradigms and innovate new ways to leverage technology for operational excellence. 🎯 Requirements

• At least 4 years of experience in a similar role focused on IT operations and automation.
• Proven experience developing scripts in Python, Terraform, or Bash.
• Solid understanding of GCP, Okta (APIs and Orchestrator), and Google Workspace.
• Knowledge of professional best practices for the full Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), including coding standards, code reviews, source control management (GitHub), and build processes.
