Full Job Description
đź“‹ Description
- • As an IT Operations Automation Engineer at Hopper Inc., you will be a pivotal technical solutions expert, entrusted with the critical responsibility of developing, facilitating, and overseeing automation initiatives within the IT Operations department. This role is designed for a "first-principles" thinker, someone who possesses the unique ability to deconstruct complex technical challenges into their fundamental elements. You will then leverage this understanding to rebuild these processes with intelligent, automated logic, thereby driving significant advancements in operational maturity and efficiency across the organization. Your contributions will directly impact how IT services are delivered, secured, and managed, ensuring Hopper's technological infrastructure remains robust, scalable, and highly efficient as the company continues its rapid global expansion.
- • Your day-to-day responsibilities will be dynamic and impactful. A core part of your role will involve building and meticulously maintaining critical automation platforms. This includes the development and enhancement of an Automation Service Gateway, a foundational component designed to standardize the exposure and security of various services within IT Operations. You will be instrumental in proactively identifying opportunities where manual workflows can be replaced by automated solutions. This involves developing new processes from the ground up, adhering strictly to best practices for development, rigorous testing, and seamless implementation. A significant aspect of your work will be partnering closely with diverse stakeholders across the company. Your goal will be to collaboratively transform existing manual workflows into scalable, compliance-driven systems that can support Hopper's growth trajectory. Furthermore, you will provide essential Tier 2 and Tier 3 support and troubleshooting for automated systems. This will require you to expertly coordinate with external vendors and internal technical teams when elevated levels of support or complex issue resolution are necessary, ensuring minimal disruption to operations.
- • You will be joining a well-funded and proven startup that harbors immense global ambitions. This environment fosters innovation and provides a unique opportunity to be part of a company that is revolutionizing the travel industry through technology and data. The team you will be part of is small and dynamic, which means your contributions will lead to massive, tangible impacts. You will work within an entrepreneurial culture where pushing limits, embracing calculated risks, and challenging the status quo are not just encouraged but are an everyday part of business. This is an environment that values open communication, providing you with direct access to management and company leadership, fostering a collaborative and transparent atmosphere.
- • In this role, you will have the opportunity to significantly deepen your expertise in IT operations automation. You will gain hands-on experience with cutting-edge technologies and methodologies, further honing your skills in Python, Terraform, and Bash scripting, as well as gaining deeper insights into GCP, Okta, and Google Workspace. You will learn to apply professional best practices across the entire Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), including advanced coding standards, effective code reviews, sophisticated source control management using GitHub, and streamlined build processes. This role offers a unique chance to architect and implement solutions that directly enhance operational efficiency and scalability for a rapidly growing global travel platform. By successfully automating complex IT processes, you will not only contribute to Hopper's technological advancement but also develop a highly sought-after skill set, positioning you for significant career growth within the tech industry.
