- • As an IT Security Analyst at Yorkville University, you will play a critical role in safeguarding the institution’s digital infrastructure by monitoring, responding to, and mitigating security threats across endpoints, networks, and cloud environments, directly contributing to the resilience of systems that support thousands of students, faculty, and staff.
- • Your day-to-day responsibilities include monitoring and triaging security alerts from SOC and Microsoft tools, investigating phishing reports via the security mailbox, managing user access and MFA issues, conducting vulnerability assessments, administering endpoint security through MDM solutions, supporting patch management, and assisting with security awareness training and compliance activities.
- • You will join a lean, high-impact IT security team reporting to the Manager, IT Security, collaborating closely with IT Operations, Infrastructure, Architecture, and onsite support teams to strengthen the organization’s security posture through cross-functional coordination and real-world incident response.
- • This role offers the opportunity to deepen your expertise in enterprise security operations, gain hands-on experience with modern security tools (including Microsoft security suite, vulnerability assessment tools, and MDM platforms), and contribute to policy development, risk assessments, and audit-ready documentation — positioning you for growth in a mission-driven organization that values continuous learning and professional development.
🎯 Requirements
- • Degree or diploma in Computer Science, Information Security, Networking Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience with recognized IT and security certifications.
- • Proven experience in IT security and infrastructure, including incident response, alert triage, security operations, cloud and endpoint security, identity and access management, and vulnerability management.
- • Strong technical proficiency with Microsoft security tools (SC-900, AZ-500, SC-200, SC-300 preferred), CompTIA Security+, CCNA, and experience with MDM, SIEM, and vulnerability assessment platforms.
- • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences, build trust, and collaborate effectively under pressure.
- • Ability to work in a hybrid environment (2 days remote, 3 days on-site), including flexibility for after-hours monitoring and emergency support as part of a rotation, and willingness to travel to campus locations as needed.
🏖️ Benefits
- • Opportunity to access tuition-free courses and programs across Yorkville University and Toronto Film School, from certificates to master’s degrees, supporting continuous learning and career advancement.
- • Hybrid work model with 2 days remote and 3 days on-site, offering flexibility while maintaining team collaboration and access to campus resources.
- • Inclusive, diverse workplace culture committed to equity, accessibility, and belonging, with active support for underrepresented groups and compliance with AODA standards.
- • Clear career progression and competitive compensation, with a salary range of $70,000 to $85,000, based on skills, experience, and impact, and openness to discuss growth throughout the hiring process.
- • Meaningful impact on a national scale — protecting the digital safety and learning experience of thousands across multiple campuses and online environments, with visible contributions to organizational resilience and security posture.
