📋 Description

• As an IT Software Engineer Sr specializing in Google Cloud Platform (GCP), you will lead the design and ownership of technology solutions that ensure resiliency, stability, and operational readiness for critical pharmacy benefit management systems, directly supporting Prime Therapeutics’ mission to connect care beyond profits.
• You will drive the ongoing development, maintenance, and support of cloud-based platforms, mentor team members, influence technical direction, and champion innovation through proactive monitoring, roadmap planning, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• You will collaborate within a purpose-driven engineering team at Prime Therapeutics, a mission-focused PBM dedicated to transforming pharmacy care through technology, where your work impacts the health and accessibility of medications for millions.
• In this role, you will deepen your expertise in GCP-native architectures, lead cross-functional technical initiatives, and grow into a trusted advisor who shapes scalable, secure, and sustainable cloud solutions while advancing your leadership and problem-solving capabilities.
• Lead the end-to-end design of cloud solutions on GCP, ensuring alignment with functional, non-functional, resiliency, stability, and operational readiness requirements through architectural best practices and proactive risk mitigation.
• Own and evolve technology solutions within your domain, including proactive monitoring, alerting systems, incident response, and communication of system health and sustainability to stakeholders.
• Guide the maintenance, enhancement, and support of existing platforms, applying rigorous standards for performance, security, and reliability while minimizing technical debt.
• Provide technical leadership by mentoring junior engineers, influencing work priorities, delivering constructive feedback, and participating in staffing and performance evaluation processes.
• Collaborate with product, security, and operations teams to define and execute technological roadmaps that support business goals and regulatory compliance (e.g., HIPAA, PCI).
• Drive innovation by evaluating emerging GCP services, prototyping improvements, and implementing CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure-as-code, and automated testing to accelerate delivery.
• Develop and refine serverless applications using Cloud Functions and Cloud Run, manage containerized workloads via Docker and Kubernetes, and optimize data pipelines using BigQuery, Dataflow, and Composer.
• Ensure secure, compliant, and efficient data handling by applying data architecture principles to large-scale models in Cloud Storage and BigQuery.
• Automate infrastructure and deployment workflows using Google Cloud SDK, APIs, GitHub Actions, and Infrastructure-as-Code tools (e.g., Terraform, Deployment Manager).
• Maintain excellent documentation of architectures, processes, and decisions to enable knowledge sharing and audit readiness.
• Uphold Prime Therapeutics’ commitment to security, compliance, and accessibility by adhering to internal policies and supporting reasonable accommodations where needed.

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent combination of education and work experience; High School Diploma or GED required.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in application development or package software implementation.
• Proficiency in GCP services including Cloud Storage, BigQuery, CloudSQL, Dataflow, Composer, and related tools.
• Strong programming skills in Python and other languages used in cloud-native development.
• Experience with containerization (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes) for deploying and managing applications on GCP.
• Understanding of serverless computing and hands-on experience with Cloud Functions and Cloud Run.
• Experience setting up and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using tools like GitHub to automate deployments on GCP.
• Familiarity with infrastructure-as-code, Google Cloud SDK, and APIs for programmatic interaction with GCP services.
• Ability to speak up on risks and opportunities, present technical and non-technical content effectively, and translate abstract concepts into stable, supportable software.
• Strong problem-solving, analytical, decision-making, and documentation skills with a forward-thinking, innovative mindset.
