- • Join Perplexity as an IT Systems Administrator and play a pivotal role in building and scaling our technological foundation. This is a unique opportunity to be an early hire in a critical IT function, directly influencing the infrastructure that powers our groundbreaking AI-powered search engine. You will be instrumental in establishing best practices, implementing robust systems, and ensuring the smooth operation of all IT aspects for our rapidly growing team.
- • As our IT Systems Administrator, you will be responsible for the end-to-end management of our corporate IT environment. This includes the procurement, setup, maintenance, and decommissioning of all hardware, software, and network resources. You will ensure that our employees have the reliable tools and systems they need to perform their jobs effectively, fostering productivity and innovation across the company.
- • A core part of your role will involve managing and optimizing our corporate software systems. This includes overseeing licenses, ensuring seamless integration between different applications, and exploring new tools that can enhance our operational efficiency. You will be the go-to person for software-related issues, providing support and driving adoption of new technologies.
- • You will be tasked with overseeing and enhancing our Mobile Device Management (MDM) infrastructure. This involves deploying, configuring, and maintaining policies for our fleet of mobile devices, ensuring they are secure, compliant, and up-to-date. Your expertise will be crucial in managing device lifecycles and providing a secure mobile work environment.
- • Security will be paramount in your responsibilities. You will be responsible for deploying and enforcing robust security policies and procedures across the organization. This includes implementing and managing antivirus solutions, encryption protocols, firewall configurations, and access controls to protect our sensitive data and systems from threats.
- • Provisioning and managing user accounts and permissions will be a key daily task. You will ensure that employees have appropriate access to the resources they need, while maintaining strict adherence to security best practices and the principle of least privilege. This involves onboarding new hires efficiently and offboarding departing employees securely.
- • You will provide prompt, effective, and empathetic technical support to all staff, addressing hardware, software, and network issues. This includes troubleshooting complex problems, diagnosing root causes, and implementing lasting solutions. Your ability to resolve issues efficiently will directly impact employee productivity and satisfaction.
- • Leading IT projects will be a significant aspect of this role. You will take ownership of initiatives focused on endpoint management, security enhancements, infrastructure improvements, and the rollout of new IT services. This requires strong project management skills, from planning and execution to documentation and post-implementation review.
- • You will deliver technical support and training on IT systems to staff, both in-person at our New York office and remotely. 🎯 Requirements
- • Minimum of 4 years of hands-on IT systems administration experience, demonstrating a strong foundation in managing diverse IT environments.
- • Proven, strong proficiency in macOS and Google Workspace (GSuite) administration, including user management, policy enforcement, and application deployment.
- • Extensive experience with network management, encompassing LAN/WAN, DHCP, DNS, VPNs, and firewall configuration and maintenance.
- • Comprehensive understanding of cybersecurity principles and practices, including endpoint security (antivirus, encryption), network security (firewalls, intrusion detection), and identity management.
