  • • Join Planet Labs PBC, a pioneering company at the forefront of Earth observation, as an IT Systems Engineer in our vibrant Berlin office. We are dedicated to leveraging space technology to address critical global challenges, from environmental monitoring to humanitarian aid. Our mission is to provide an unprecedented dataset of empirical information through a revolutionary cloud-based platform, empowering users across commercial, environmental, and humanitarian sectors to drive innovation, revenue, research, and solutions to the world's most pressing obstacles.
  • • As a key member of our Global IT Support team, you will play a pivotal role in building and operating the essential systems that ensure our global workforce remains productive, secure, and exceptionally well-supported. This hybrid role, requiring three days per week in our Berlin office, offers a unique blend of hands-on systems engineering and direct user-facing support, guaranteeing employees a reliable and seamless technology experience.
  • • Your responsibilities will span across critical areas including endpoint management, identity platforms, and automation. You will be instrumental in designing, implementing, and refining IT processes to boost operational efficiency and enhance team collaboration, with a keen eye for introducing new and innovative tools, including AI-driven solutions, to make our IT operations more scalable and efficient.
  • • A core aspect of your role will be Device Lifecycle Management. You will oversee the entire journey of employee devices, from the initial procurement and meticulous setup, through to deployment, ongoing maintenance, critical patch management, comprehensive reporting, and finally, secure decommissioning. This ensures our team always has access to up-to-date and functional technology.
  • • You will provide advanced, user-centric support to our global workforce, adeptly handling issues across both Windows and macOS operating systems. This includes diagnosing and resolving complex hardware and software problems with a friendly and approachable demeanor, ensuring minimal disruption to employee productivity.
  • • Maintaining and supporting our office videoconferencing solutions, such as Polycom and Zoom Rooms, will be another key responsibility. Your efforts will guarantee smooth, reliable, and high-quality communication for meetings and collaborations, connecting our distributed teams effectively.
  • • You will be integral to the employee onboarding and offboarding processes, ensuring that new team members are equipped with the necessary IT resources and access from day one, and that departing employees' access is managed securely and efficiently.
  • • This role offers a fantastic opportunity to contribute to a company that values technical excellence, a collaborative spirit, and a people-centric approach to culture. You will work within a highly collaborative, distributed environment, fostering strong relationships with colleagues across our global hubs in Berlin, Haarlem, Ljubljana, San Francisco, and Washington D.C.
  • • We are looking for an individual who thrives on solving intricate technical problems, is passionate about process improvement, and is eager to explore and implement cutting-edge tools to enhance IT operations. If you are motivated by making a tangible impact on a global team's daily experience and are excited by the prospect of working with a company that is literally changing the way the world sees itself, this is the role for you.
  • • Planet is committed to fostering a culture of belonging, and we encourage individuals from all backgrounds to apply. We believe that diverse perspectives are crucial to solving complex global challenges. If you are intrigued by this opportunity but feel you may not meet every qualification, we strongly encourage you to apply. We are building a team of well-rounded individuals who can contribute in numerous ways, and we are excited about candidates motivated by our underlying humanitarian efforts.
  • • This is a full-time, hybrid position based in our Berlin office, offering a dynamic work environment where innovation meets purpose. Join us in our mission to use space for good and be a part of a team that is shaping the future of Earth observation.
