- • As a ServiceNow ITOM Discovery SME, you will design, implement, and maintain CMDB architecture aligned with ServiceNow best practices and the CSDM framework, ensuring accurate, reliable, and actionable configuration data to support IT Operations, Service Management, Security, and business services for the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services - Cloud Products & Tools (CMS - CPT) mission.
- • Day to day, you will configure and manage ServiceNow Discovery for data centers, cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP), and endpoints; develop and maintain discovery schedules, credentials, MID Server infrastructure, probes, sensors, patterns, and classification rules; troubleshoot discovery issues; ensure credential management aligns with security best practices; monitor and improve CMDB health; identify and remediate duplicate, stale, or orphaned CIs; implement automated data reconciliation; align discovery data with external sources like SCCM and cloud APIs; design and maintain integrations between ServiceNow and external systems; automate discovery operations using Flow Designer, Business Rules, and IntegrationHub; support SW CI lifecycle automation; provide advanced troubleshooting for discovery failures and CMDB inconsistencies; act as a subject matter expert; ensure compliance with organizational security policies; implement secure credential storage; support audit readiness; and stay current with ServiceNow releases and ITOM enhancements.
- • You will join GDIT’s IT Infrastructure and Operations team, supporting a mission-critical federal client where people are the differentiator, and you will contribute to challenging projects that create immediate value and deliver solutions at the edge of innovation across digital modernization, AI/ML, Cloud, Cyber, and application development.

🎯 Requirements
- • Bachelor’s degree in information systems, Business, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent combination of education, certifications, training, or work experience
- • 3–5+ years of hands-on experience with CMDB and ITOM Discovery
- • Strong understanding of CMDB design and data modeling, ServiceNow Discovery architecture (MID Servers, probes/sensors, patterns), and Identification and Reconciliation Engine (IRE)
- • Experience with cloud discovery (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP)
- • Familiarity with ITIL processes and frameworks
- • Scripting experience (JavaScript, REST/SOAP APIs)
- • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; deep technical expertise with systems-thinking mindset; data governance and quality focus; ability to translate technical configurations into business value; effective communication and cross-functional collaboration
- • Must be able to pass a CMS Public Trust background investigation; applicants must have lived in the United States at least 3 out of the last 5 years prior to application
