- • As a Java Technical Referent at dLocal, you will serve as a technical authority and go-to expert for Java-based systems, ensuring high-quality, scalable, and maintainable code across payment processing platforms that serve global merchants in emerging markets.
- • Day to day, you will lead technical design discussions, review complex Java codebases, mentor junior developers, establish coding standards and best practices, troubleshoot critical production issues, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to align technical solutions with business goals in a fast-paced, global fintech environment.
- • You will join a diverse, high-performing engineering team of over 1,000 teammates across 30+ nationalities, where innovation, ownership, and customer impact are core values, and where your expertise will directly contribute to enabling seamless payment experiences for millions of users worldwide.
- • In this role, you will deepen your expertise in enterprise Java systems, influence architectural decisions at scale, grow as a technical leader without moving into people management, and gain exposure to complex, high-volume payment infrastructures operating across 40+ emerging markets.
🎯 Requirements
- • Expert-level proficiency in Java (8+ years experience) with deep knowledge of JVM, concurrency, memory management, and performance tuning
- • Proven experience designing and maintaining large-scale, distributed systems in fintech or payment processing environments
- • Strong background in microservices architecture, RESTful APIs, and event-driven systems using technologies like Kafka or RabbitMQ
- • Demonstrated ability to mentor engineers, conduct code reviews, and drive technical excellence across teams
