Full Job Description
đź“‹ Description
- • Own the user-facing experience of Laminar Insights, our flagship analytics platform used by Fortune 100 manufacturers to slash water, energy, and chemical waste. You will ship pixel-perfect, data-rich interfaces that turn terabytes of sensor data into intuitive, actionable insights for plant operators and sustainability officers.
- • Iterate rapidly from whiteboard sketches to production-ready features. You will gather requirements directly from customers like Unilever and Coca-Cola, prototype in Figma, validate with users, and then implement end-to-end in Next.js, TypeScript, and TailwindCSS—often within the same sprint.
- • Pioneer AI-driven interaction paradigms. We are embedding LLMs directly into the product to let users ask plain-English questions like “Why did line 3 spike energy last night?” You will design and build the chat-style UI, prompt-engineer the model, and craft the feedback loops that make the AI feel magical yet trustworthy.
- • Strengthen our full-stack backbone. While your heart beats for the front end, you will also contribute to our Node.js/PostgreSQL API, ensuring endpoints are secure, performant, and versioned. Expect to write GraphQL resolvers, optimize SQL queries, and uphold SOC-2-grade security standards.
- • Champion automation and DevOps excellence. You will create GitHub Actions workflows that lint, test, build, and deploy every PR to AWS with zero downtime. Terraform infrastructure-as-code, Cypress e2e suites, and automated canary releases are all fair game.
- • Instrument, measure, and obsess over user success. You will wire up product analytics (Mixpanel, Segment) and build internal dashboards that track feature adoption, query latency, and customer NPS—then use those insights to prioritize your next big bet.
- • Collaborate shoulder-to-shoulder with a tight-knit, mission-driven team. Daily stand-ups are quick, but ad-hoc whiteboard sessions with our ML engineers, hardware team, and founders are where the real magic happens. Your voice will shape product roadmap and company culture from day one.
- • Mentor and be mentored. Despite the “Jr.” title, you will review PRs from senior engineers, present lunch-and-learns on new CSS tricks, and receive dedicated coaching on system design and climate-tech domain knowledge. Growth is not a perk—it is our operating system.
- • Thrive in a high-autonomy, high-ownership environment. If you see a flaky test or a confusing onboarding flow, you are expected to open a ticket, spike a fix, and ship it—no bureaucratic sign-offs required.
- • Celebrate real-world impact. Every feature you release helps factories conserve millions of gallons of water and kilowatt-hours of energy. You will receive customer shout-outs in Slack and see your work featured in sustainability reports from global brands.
🎯 Requirements
- • 1–2 years of professional experience building production web applications, ideally with Next.js and TypeScript
- • Demonstrated fluency in modern front-end stacks: React, TailwindCSS, REST/GraphQL, and at least one visualization library (Recharts, D3, or similar)
- • Comfort working across the stack—able to debug a slow SQL query or add a secure API endpoint when the mission demands it
- • Strong product intuition: you can translate ambiguous user pain points into crisp user stories and measurable acceptance criteria
- • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; you can explain technical trade-offs to both engineers and plant-floor operators
🏖️ Benefits
- • Competitive salary of $86k–$110k plus meaningful equity in a fast-growing, investor-backed climate-tech startup
- • 100% company-paid HMO medical, dental, and vision insurance for you; subsidized plans for dependents
- • Flexible PTO policy, 12 company holidays, and a culture that actually encourages unplugging
- • $90/month transportation stipend and $65/month health & wellness allowance—use it for the gym, bike share, or meditation apps
- • Employer-matching 401(k) (rare for startups at our stage) and access to Greentown Labs’ prototyping shop and climate-tech community
