Full Job Description
đź“‹ Description
- • Own the end-to-end delivery of front-end heavy features for Collectly’s patient-facing and provider-facing web applications, translating Figma designs into pixel-perfect React components that delight 85,000+ daily users across 500+ healthcare organizations.
- • Architect and maintain scalable, reusable UI patterns inside our internal UI Kit (built on React + TypeScript + Storybook) so that every new screen loads in <200 ms and meets WCAG 2.1 AA accessibility standards without additional QA cycles.
- • Lead complex product initiatives such as real-time insurance eligibility checks, dynamic payment-plan calculators, and HIPAA-compliant chat widgets—driving a 30 % reduction in patient billing inquiries and a 22 % lift in on-time collections for our clients.
- • Collaborate daily with Product, Design, and Customer Success in a hybrid, async-first culture spanning Santa Monica, New York, and Barcelona; run weekly demos, gather user feedback, and iterate in two-week sprints that ship to production every Tuesday.
- • Write clean, type-safe code: 80 % front-end (React 18, Redux Toolkit, React Query, Emotion) and 20 % back-end (Python 3.11, FastAPI, SQLAlchemy, PostgreSQL) so you can unblock yourself and deliver features without waiting for another team.
- • Establish and evangelize front-end best practices—unit tests with Jest + React Testing Library, e2e coverage with Cypress, bundle-size budgets enforced in CI, and automated Lighthouse checks that keep our PWA score above 95.
- • Mentor mid-level engineers through pair programming, design reviews, and career-growth plans; foster a culture where knowledge sharing is the default and every PR is an opportunity to level up the team.
- • Instrument, monitor, and optimize performance: reduce First Input Delay by 40 %, cut bundle size by 25 %, and ensure 99.9 % uptime so patients can pay their bills at 2 a.m. without friction.
- • Contribute to the strategic roadmap by translating customer pain points into technical proposals, estimating effort, and presenting trade-offs to leadership so we can hit ambitious ARR targets while keeping tech debt under control.
- • Champion security and compliance: implement row-level encryption, audit logging, and SOC-2 controls that keep patient data safer than traditional portals and earn trust from hospital CIOs.
🎯 Requirements
- • 5+ years shipping production-grade web applications with React, TypeScript, and modern build tooling.
- • Demonstrated ability to turn high-fidelity designs into responsive, accessible, and performant UIs with obsessive attention to detail.
- • Strong written and verbal English communication skills; comfortable presenting to stakeholders and writing concise technical specs.
- • Nice-to-have: hands-on experience with Python, SQLAlchemy, and PostgreSQL to own features across the stack.
- • Nice-to-have: prior work extending or creating custom design systems and component libraries.
🏖️ Benefits
- • Competitive salary of €85,000–€108,000 annually plus stock options in a fast-growing Y Combinator startup that just closed a $29 M Series B.
- • Fully remote-first culture with optional co-working budget and quarterly team off-sites in Barcelona, Lisbon, or the Canary Islands.
- • Comprehensive private health insurance, mental-wellness stipend, and unlimited PTO policy that people actually use.
- • Annual learning & development budget of €2,000 for conferences, courses, or new hardware—plus dedicated time every Friday for personal growth.
