📋 Description

• Join the Nutshell team within WebFX as a Jr. Full-Stack Software Engineer based in Ann Arbor, MI, contributing to an award-winning CRM and email marketing platform.
• Collaborate with frontend teams building web and mobile applications using React and React Native while developing the backend GraphQL and cloud infrastructure that powers the platform.
• Work with MySQL and Solr databases hosted on AWS to manage and optimize data storage and retrieval for client-facing applications.
• Deploy tested, peer-reviewed code to production on your first day through a continuous integration pipeline managed by Jenkins.
• Use PHP with the Symfony framework, Nginx, Gearman, and Ansible for server-side development and infrastructure automation.
• Utilize Docker for local development environments and GitHub for code management, review, and collaboration.
• Engage in a fast-paced, agile environment with rapid development cycles and frequent code deployments.
• Contribute to a technology stack that includes REST, JSON-RPC, and GraphQL APIs, with hands-on experience in HTTP API design principles.
• Participate in unit testing and continuous integration practices to ensure code quality and system reliability.
• Work alongside a team of ~15 designers, engineers, and project managers, including experienced professionals and recent graduates.
• Support small businesses daily by building and maintaining tools that enhance their customer relationship and marketing workflows.
• Operate in a modern downtown Ann Arbor office located on Ashley Street with flexibility to work remotely or in-office as the team regroups.
• Receive training on all core platforms, tools, and technologies—no prior experience with every stack is required.
• Take initiative on multiple projects, balancing independent work with collaborative team efforts.
• Apply problem-solving skills and a can-do mindset to overcome technical challenges while prioritizing customer goals.
• Maintain high standards for code quality, attention to detail, and follow-through on deliverables.
• Stay current with emerging web technologies and contribute to a culture of lifelong learning and skill growth.
• Communicate effectively with cross-functional teams and demonstrate strong interpersonal and time management skills.
• Work with a sense of urgency to meet deadlines while maintaining professionalism and dependability.

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or a related field
• GPA above 3.5 (upcoming and recent college graduates encouraged to apply)
• Part-time, volunteer, or internship programming experience
• Development experience in backend web languages such as PHP, Python, or Ruby
• Working knowledge of modern software development frameworks like Symfony or Rails
• Strong background in SQL and relational databases
