- • As a Junior Backend Engineer at Trading 212 UK Ltd., you will contribute to building scalable, high-performance financial technology platforms that empower over 4.5 million clients to manage more than €30 billion in assets under management. Your work will directly support the company’s mission to democratize wealth creation through innovative, user-centric trading and investing products.
- • You will engage in the full software development lifecycle — from gathering requirements and designing solutions to coding, testing, deploying, and monitoring backend services — within compact, autonomous teams that operate with short release cycles and a strong emphasis on ownership, continuous learning, and knowledge sharing.

- • You will develop deep expertise in backend systems design, including performance optimization, scalability patterns, and resilient architecture, while gaining hands-on experience with a diverse, polyglot tech stack that includes Java, Go, Kafka, PostgreSQL, and cloud-native observability tools.
- • Through mentorship from senior engineers and participation in blameless retrospectives and knowledge-sharing sessions, you will accelerate your professional growth, refine your problem-solving abilities, and build a strong foundation for a long-term career in backend engineering at a fast-growing fintech leader.
🎯 Requirements
- • Ongoing or completed education in Computer Science or a related technical field.
- • Familiarity with HTTP and AMQP communication protocols, including the ability to evaluate and choose the appropriate protocol for specific use cases.
- • Prior experience with at least one mainstream web framework (language-agnostic), demonstrating ability to build and maintain backend services.
- • Solid understanding of relational database concepts, including indexing, transactions, and basic database design principles.
