- • As a Junior Regulatory and Compliance Counsel at Nelnet, you will play a critical role in ensuring the company adheres to complex federal and state regulations across its diverse business lines, including student loan servicing, consumer lending, payments processing, and renewable energy solutions.
- • Your day-to-day responsibilities include staying current with evolving legal and regulatory requirements, reviewing and approving marketing and public-facing materials for compliance, interpreting laws to recommend compliant business solutions, managing the timely implementation of regulatory guidance, and providing internal support on compliance and consumer protection matters.
- • You will collaborate closely with the Chief Compliance Officer, Compliance Manager, Legal Services, and Government Relations teams to develop risk-mitigating compliance strategies and represent Nelnet in industry associations and regulatory forums.
- • This role offers the opportunity to deepen your expertise in financial services regulation, build cross-functional collaboration skills, and contribute to a mission-driven organization committed to creating opportunities for individuals in education, finance, and beyond.
🎯 Requirements
- • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school
- • Four-year undergraduate degree
- • Strong understanding of consumer protection laws including Regulation B, Regulation Z, FDCPA, FCRA, TCPA, SCRA, and UDAAP
