📋 Description

• As a Junior Security Analyst at SailPoint Technologies Holdings, Inc., you will play a vital role in supporting the Security Operations Center (SOC) team by monitoring, analyzing, and responding to security events, contributing directly to the protection of the organization’s digital assets and infrastructure.
• This entry-level position is designed for individuals passionate about cybersecurity who are eager to build foundational skills in threat detection, incident response, and purple teaming while working remotely from Mexico on a mid-day shift (1:00 PM–10:00 PM CDT).
• You will monitor security events using SIEM (e.g., Splunk, QRadar) and EDR tools, perform initial triage under supervision, and escalate potential incidents to senior analysts when necessary, ensuring timely and accurate response to security alerts.
• Your day-to-day responsibilities include assisting in documenting security events, maintaining response playbooks, reviewing logs for suspicious activity, and supporting proactive threat monitoring through continuous analysis of alerts and system behaviors.
• You will participate in foundational purple team exercises, such as observing tabletop simulations or blue/red team collaborations, to gain insight into detection and response gaps and understand how offensive and defensive security practices intersect.
• You will assist in collecting and organizing threat intelligence data, including indicators of compromise (IOCs), from open-source feeds and internal reports, helping to enrich the team’s situational awareness.
• You will conduct basic risk enumeration tasks using provided scanning tools to identify vulnerabilities and contribute to the organization’s vulnerability management efforts.
• You will engage in structured training to learn threat hunting fundamentals and threat intelligence processes, leveraging company resources to deepen your knowledge of forensics, incident response, and adversary tactics, techniques, and procedures (TTPs).
• You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, continuously learn new technologies, and apply your growing expertise to improve investigation quality and support the evolution of SailPoint’s security capabilities.
• The role offers a clear progression path: within 30 days, you’ll become familiar with core security tools and begin shadowing senior analysts; by 60 days, you’ll start performing basic triage independently under guidance; by 90 days, you’ll articulate investigation steps and follow playbooks confidently; at 6 months, you’ll triage events independently and incorporate QA feedback; and by 1 year, you’ll operate with minimal supervision, identify improvement opportunities, and meet team standards for investigation quality.

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• 0–2 years of experience in cybersecurity or IT.
• Basic understanding of networking, operating systems (Windows/Linux), and core security principles.
• Familiarity with SIEM tools (e.g., Splunk, QRadar) and EDR platforms.
• Interest in purple teaming concepts and threat intelligence processes.
• Strong analytical skills and a demonstrated eagerness to learn.
• Relevant certifications such as CompTIA Security+ or CySA+ are preferred but not required.
• Ability to quickly learn new technologies and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
• English written and spoken proficiency is required for communication and documentation.
• Foundational understanding of applications, networks, cloud architecture, and basic coding concepts.
