  • • Join Orchestra, a dynamic and rapidly expanding communications company, as a Junior Video Editor within the Versus Media Group. This is a contract role, running from April 6, 2025, to November 9, 2026, offering a unique opportunity to contribute to impactful projects in political campaigns, issue advocacy, and public affairs.
  • • Orchestra is at the forefront of modern communications, built for today's complex media landscape. Since its inception in 2022, Orchestra has strategically acquired nine leading firms, including BerlinRosen, Civitas Public Affairs Group, Derris, Glen Echo Group, Inkhouse, M18, Message Lab, Onward, and Small Girls PR. This expansion, alongside the launch of Brightmode, a dedicated talent acquisition firm for communications professionals, positions Orchestra as a comprehensive powerhouse in the industry.
  • • The Versus Media Group, a specialized division within Orchestra, boasts a team with decades of collective experience as admakers and political strategists. They excel in building winning campaigns, recruiting and coaching candidates, and driving successful outcomes. Their services encompass hands-on strategic guidance, messaging consulting, creative production, and sophisticated media planning and buying across both linear and digital platforms. They partner closely with clients to dissect their challenges and devise winning strategies that optimize media investments.
  • • As a Junior Editor, you will be an integral part of the Versus Media Group's growing production team, reporting directly to the Supervising Editor. Your primary responsibility will be to support the video editing and production of compelling digital content for a diverse range of clients.
  • • This role is ideal for an early-career editing professional with hands-on experience managing post-production workflows for short-form, social media video content. You will play a crucial role in ensuring the swift and efficient completion of post-production tasks, tackling creative challenges head-on, and producing content that resonates and achieves significant impact.
  • • You will collaborate closely with video production and editing teams, translating brand briefs into visually engaging content. A key aspect of your role will involve adapting existing content for various platforms, optimizing and formatting videos specifically for short-form social media channels like TikTok, Instagram Reels, and YouTube Shorts, as well as for standard-length formats.
  • • Your responsibilities will extend to the technical aspects of post-production, including mixing sound effects, integrating background music, and ensuring voiceovers are seamlessly blended with the visuals to create a polished final product.
  • • You will be expected to manage multiple projects concurrently, demonstrating an ability to balance speed, quality, and budget constraints without ever compromising the high creative standards set by Versus Media Group and its clients.
  • • A critical function of this role is to ensure that all video output consistently meets and exceeds the editorial, brand, and client expectations. This requires a keen eye for detail and a commitment to excellence in every piece of content produced.
  • • You will be encouraged to proactively develop and evolve new short-form video formats and innovative creative approaches. This will be done in close collaboration with the production teams, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and creative exploration.
  • • A significant part of your contribution will involve brainstorming, testing, and piloting new ideas. This requires a deep understanding of social-first audience behavior and performance metrics, ensuring that content is not only creative but also strategically effective.
  • • You will work collaboratively to ensure all content aligns with established brand guidelines. Staying abreast of the latest social media trends, viral sounds, and evolving editing styles is essential to maintaining a competitive edge.
  • • This position is fully remote, based within the Los Angeles metro area, offering flexibility. However, occasional travel will be required for in-person collaboration with team members and clients, ensuring strong working relationships and effective project execution.
  • • You will perform other duties as assigned by the Supervising Editor and Head of Production, demonstrating a willingness to contribute wherever needed to support the team's success.
  • • The ideal candidate possesses a genuine passion for the craft of video editing, a solid understanding of fundamental editing practices and systems, and a proven ability to implement quick, accurate revisions based on feedback in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
  • • This role offers a fantastic opportunity for an early-career professional to gain extensive experience in a high-impact sector, working with a leading communications firm and contributing to significant campaigns and initiatives.

🎯 Requirements

  • • 1+ years of professional experience in video editing, with relevant internship experience considered.
  • • Proficiency with industry-standard video editing software, including Adobe Premiere Pro, Adobe After Effects, and Adobe Photoshop.
  • • Familiarity with the complete post-production process, including basic audio mixing, sound effect integration, and dialogue enhancement.
  • • Demonstrated ability to organize raw footage, create assembly edits, and sequence clips into a cohesive narrative.
  • • Strong communication skills, with the ability to clearly articulate ideas and respond effectively to feedback.
  • • Meticulous attention to detail and excellent organizational skills, including asset management and adherence to file naming conventions.
  • • Knowledge of emerging AI tools for video production and experience applying them in real-world workflows.
  • • A discernible interest in campaign politics and an understanding of political sensibilities are preferred.
  • • Experience working in high-pressure, time-sensitive campaign environments is a plus.

🏖️ Benefits

  • • Competitive salary range of $62,000 - $72,000 annually (prorated for the contract duration).
  • • Opportunity to work remotely within the Los Angeles metro area, offering flexibility.
  • • Gain valuable experience with a leading communications company and its diverse portfolio of clients.
  • • Collaborate with a talented and experienced team of storytellers and strategists.
  • • Contribute to impactful projects in political campaigns, issue advocacy, and public affairs.
  • • Potential for advancement within Orchestra's growing network of agencies.
