• • As a Lead AI & Technology Risk Auditor at The Allstate Corporation, you will be at the forefront of ensuring the secure, ethical, and well-controlled adoption of artificial intelligence and other advanced technologies. This senior-level role is pivotal in safeguarding the company against emerging risks associated with AI, generative AI, and data-driven systems, playing a crucial part in protecting families and their belongings.
• • You will independently lead complex, agile technology and business audits, leveraging advanced project management skills to guide scrum teams, manage timelines, identify and resolve blockers, and ensure the timely delivery of audit findings. This includes managing the creation and execution of comprehensive audit programs, from drafting testing plans and acceptance criteria to performing walkthroughs, identifying controls, and executing testing procedures for intricate processes with minimal supervision.
• • A core aspect of your role will involve applying critical thinking, advanced data analytics, and AI-assisted audit techniques to meticulously evaluate evidence, pinpoint root causes of issues, assess risk levels, and formulate robust recommendations for control enhancements and process improvements. You will utilize tools such as Python, SQL, or visualization platforms to conduct full-population testing, anomaly detection, and pattern analysis, thereby uncovering insights that might otherwise remain hidden.
• • Effective communication is paramount; you will engage with audit clients through detailed sprint reviews to share early observations, refine audit direction, and ensure alignment with stakeholder priorities. Furthermore, you will craft clear and concise audit reports that effectively communicate findings, associated risks, and recommended actions, fostering transparency and driving remediation.
• • You will be instrumental in building and nurturing strong, trust-based relationships with IT and business leaders across the enterprise, actively contributing to Internal Audit's broader relationship management efforts and establishing yourself as a reliable partner.
• • A significant part of your contribution will be mentoring and developing other audit team members. You will provide constructive coaching and feedback, supporting their growth in critical areas such as control identification, test execution, documentation best practices, AI literacy, data analytics adoption, and strategic thinking, thereby cultivating the next generation of audit leaders.
• • Your role demands strong business acumen, requiring you to apply a deep understanding of Allstate's insurance and non-insurance operations, its control environment, and interdepartmental dynamics to inform your audit execution and the insights you provide.
• • You will specifically assess controls related to the development, deployment, and monitoring of generative AI and large language model (LLM)-based applications. This includes evaluating prompt engineering safeguards, output validation processes, mitigation of hallucination risks, data privacy considerations within training sets, and the oversight of third-party AI service providers.
• • You will actively support departmental initiatives focused on process improvement, change leadership, and functional expertise. This includes advancing the use of AI, automation, and analytics in areas like continuous monitoring, document review, and predictive risk scoring to enhance overall audit quality, coverage, and efficiency.
• • Staying abreast of the rapidly evolving landscape of AI regulatory requirements, industry standards, and risk frameworks (such as the NIST AI Risk Management Framework, IEEE AI ethics standards, and relevant state/federal AI legislation) is crucial. You will integrate this knowledge into audit planning and testing to ensure compliance and best practices.
