- • Design end-to-end data solutions by evaluating architectural options, articulating tradeoffs, and delivering production-ready, testable, and maintainable code.
- • Influence and evolve the team’s data architecture standards through research, testing, and implementation of modeling and tooling best practices, while analyzing technical risks and long-term implications of key decisions.
- • Proactively identify and execute on high-value technical health and business opportunities before they appear on formal roadmaps.
- • Actively participate in business measurement discussions, clearly communicating both the value and structural limitations of proposed metrics to cross-functional stakeholders.
- • Mentor Analytics Engineers and analysts with targeted feedback and specific growth expectations, enabling team success through documentation, process development, and knowledge sharing.
- • Contribute as a decision-maker in roadmap and goal-setting processes, shaping the strategic direction of the Analytics Engineering team.
- • Communicate complex data architecture concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences, anticipating blockers and scope changes before escalation is required.
- • Own the health and evolution of data systems that power decisions across Product, Marketing, Operations, and Finance teams.
- • Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines in a data context, including automated testing and deployment validation to ensure reliability and consistency.
- • Apply deep ELT/ETL knowledge with strong instincts for observability, failure recovery, and data lineage management.
- • Build and enforce team-wide dbt practices around testing, documentation, and modularity to ensure scalable and reusable data models.
- • Perform advanced SQL queries at scale, ensuring code is performant, readable, and handles edge cases effectively.
- • Drive structural improvements in data architecture that deliver lasting business impact across the organization.
- • Support the adoption of BI tools as products, including maintaining semantic layer health and establishing cross-team data model standards.
- • Leverage experience with performance marketing and frontend eventing data to enhance data product accuracy and relevance.
🎯 Requirements
- • 7+ years in analytics engineering or a closely related data role with end-to-end technical ownership across architecture, delivery, and long-term maintenance.
- • Expert-level SQL proficiency, with ability to write performant, scalable, and edge-case-aware queries.
- • Advanced proficiency in dbt, including establishing team practices for testing, documentation, and modularity.
- • Proven track record of making data architecture decisions with lasting structural impact.
- • Demonstrated experience mentoring engineers and analysts through code review, process development, or tooling.
- • Ability to clearly explain data architecture tradeoffs to both engineers and business stakeholders in the same conversation.
