📋 Description
- • Lead Controls Engineer responsible for driving design, functionality, and testing of upper-level automated sortation systems at FORTNA, a global leader in omnichannel and parcel distribution solutions.
- • Day-to-day responsibilities include writing and implementing modular PLC code, designing HMIs using Ignition or Wonderware, reviewing electrical designs, providing technical leadership, mentoring junior engineers, and coordinating with cross-functional teams and vendors.
- • FORTNA partners with world-leading brands to optimize order fulfillment and last-mile delivery through intelligent software, robotics, and automated equipment, fostering a collaborative, diverse, and mission-driven workplace culture.
- • The role offers opportunities to lead complex automation projects, deepen expertise in industrial controls systems, mentor emerging talent, and contribute to high-impact logistics solutions that transform customer operations.
🎯 Requirements
- • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology or equivalent.
- • 7+ years of experience in industrial controls environments, including PLC programming (Rockwell required), HMI programming (FactoryTalk View, Ignition, Wonderware), and industrial communication networks (EtherNet/IP, Profinet, Modbus).
- • Proven ability to troubleshoot and isolate controls I/O problems involving hardware (VFDs, controllers, comms devices) and software (PLC/HMI) feedback.
