Full Job Description
đź“‹ Description
- • Own the data story for Rover’s product roadmap in Barcelona. You will sit shoulder-to-shoulder with product managers, designers, and engineers to define what success looks like before a single line of code is written, then rigorously measure whether we hit the mark after launch.
- • Design and run A/B and multivariate tests that move core marketplace metrics—conversion, repeat booking rate, sitter activation, customer lifetime value—while protecting the trust and safety of our two-sided community of pet parents and caregivers.
- • Build scalable measurement frameworks that translate fuzzy product ideas into quantifiable hypotheses. You will decide what to track, how to track it, and how to interpret the results so teams can iterate quickly and confidently.
- • Surface insights that influence company-level strategy. You will craft executive-ready narratives that combine experiment read-outs, marketplace health dashboards, and deep-dive analyses into root causes of metric shifts.
- • Partner with data engineering to evolve our event taxonomy, ETL pipelines, and Redshift data models so analysts across Rover can answer questions in minutes, not days. You will review SQL from junior analysts and champion code quality, documentation, and reproducibility.
- • Act as the go-to expert on statistical rigor. You will raise the bar for experimental design, power analysis, and causal inference across the analytics org, increasing throughput without sacrificing scientific validity.
- • Mentor analysts and non-technical stakeholders in storytelling with data. Through lunch-and-learns, pair programming, and design critiques, you will grow the team’s ability to ask better questions and reach clearer conclusions.
- • Monitor both supply and demand health in real time. When sitter availability drops in Berlin or booking demand spikes in Toronto, you will be the first to flag the trend, hypothesize drivers, and rally the right people to act.
- • Translate complex findings into intuitive Mode dashboards and Amplitude boards that product teams check daily. Your visualizations will become the shared language for prioritizing roadmap items and allocating engineering resources.
- • Champion a culture of evidence-based decision making. Whether debating the color of a CTA button or the pricing logic for holiday surges, you will insist on data over hunches while remaining empathetic to user experience and brand values.
- • Contribute to Rover’s inclusive, pet-friendly culture. From bringing your own dog to user-research sessions to hosting “puppy office hours,” you will help make data science approachable—and fun—for everyone in the pack.
