Full Job Description
đź“‹ Description
- • As the first in-house Data Engineer at Atticus, Inc., you will own and evolve the core data infrastructure that powers a mission-driven platform connecting people in crisis to life-changing legal and government aid. This early, high-impact role sits at the intersection of Engineering and Business Operations, where you’ll build reliable, scalable data systems while translating business needs into trustworthy data products that enable data scientists, analysts, and product teams to focus on insights rather than data wrangling.
- • Day to day, you will own and operate the data warehouse, pipelines, and transformation layer; design and maintain scalable data pipelines ingesting data from internal and third-party sources; partner with data scientists and analysts to deliver clean, well-documented datasets and optimize query performance; incrementally modernize existing data systems by assessing legacy infrastructure and prioritizing thoughtful migrations; and implement data quality monitoring, alerting, and documentation practices to build organizational trust in data.
- • Atticus is a certified B Corporation and Series C startup that has helped hundreds of thousands of people access over $10B in aid, backed by top-tier VCs including GV (Google Ventures) and True Ventures. With a team grown from 151 to 210 in 2025 and plans for further expansion in 2026, the company combines strong traction with a mission to create a category-defining social enterprise. You’ll join a culture that values impact, equity, and collaboration, where your work directly improves access to justice and compensation for vulnerable Americans.
- • In this role, you will gain deep ownership of a growing data function, shape engineering standards and team culture from the ground up, and develop expertise in modernizing data systems in a high-growth environment. You’ll strengthen your ability to bridge technical and business teams, influence data strategy, and contribute to meaningful social impact—all while working remotely with quarterly in-person offsites in Los Angeles.
