  • • As a Lead Data Scientist at New Relic, you will serve as a technical cornerstone of the analytics organization, driving the development of advanced data products and machine learning solutions that power strategic decision-making across product, engineering, and strategy teams.
  • • You will lead the design, development, and deployment of advanced ML models for critical business problems such as churn prediction, user segmentation, and product usage forecasting, while serving as a subject matter expert in statistical analysis, experimentation, and code quality.
  • • You will partner with product managers and engineers to translate ambiguous business questions into rigorous data science projects, drive MLOps adoption for scalable and monitored model deployment, and perform deep-dive analyses on telemetry data to uncover optimization and growth opportunities.
  • • You will mentor and coach junior data scientists, foster a culture of technical learning and innovation, and communicate complex findings to non-technical stakeholders through compelling data storytelling and visualization.
  • • You will work within a global team of innovators shaping the future of observability, contributing to an intelligent platform that empowers companies to thrive in an AI-first world by providing unparalleled insight into complex systems.

🎯 Requirements

  • • 7+ years of experience in data science, statistics, or a related field with a proven track record of delivering high-impact machine learning solutions.
  • • Expert-level proficiency in Python for data manipulation, statistical analysis, and model development using libraries such as pandas, scikit-learn, and numpy.
  • • Advanced knowledge of SQL for complex data querying and performance optimization.
  • • Strong hands-on experience with supervised learning (regression, random forests, gradient boosting), unsupervised learning (clustering, dimensionality reduction), and time series forecasting (ARIMA, Prophet).
  • • Experience with dbt for data transformation and maintaining reliable data pipelines.
  • • Demonstrated ability to deploy models into production environments and familiarity with MLOps concepts.
  • • Familiarity with software engineering practices including CI/CD, version control with Git, and use of Jira.
  • • Strong communication skills with the ability to influence stakeholders and explain technical concepts to business audiences.
  • • Expertise in developing or integrating GenAI models or AI agents into product and analytical workflows.
