• • As the Lead Fund Accountant, NA, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the financial integrity and operational efficiency of Vantage Data Centers' North American fund operations. This remote U.S.-based position reports to the Manager, Investor Fund Accounting, NA, and is instrumental in navigating the complexities of fund accounting, technical accounting analysis, and process improvement.
• • Your primary responsibilities will involve leading the preparation of comprehensive fund-level financial statements, meticulously crafting journal entries, and developing detailed supporting schedules. A critical aspect of this role is performing rigorous general ledger reconciliations, ensuring absolute accuracy and adherence to accounting principles.
• • You will be entrusted with overseeing the quarterly and year-end close procedures for assigned Funds. This includes the diligent preparation of workpapers, financial packages, and capital account statements, alongside the crucial reconciliation of related accounts. Maintaining the integrity of fund capital tables will be a key focus, ensuring that ownership details, commitments, contributions, distributions, and unfunded balances are consistently aligned with the general ledger.
• • A significant part of your contribution will be in the preparation, review, and enhancement of capital call and distribution calculations. This involves ensuring strict compliance with governing documents and guaranteeing the accuracy of investor-level allocations, a vital function for maintaining strong investor relations.
• • The role demands a strong aptitude for technical accounting research. You will be expected to independently research, interpret, and apply US GAAP to various transactions, providing clear, concise, and well-documented accounting position memos that guide the organization's financial reporting.
• • A deep understanding of partnership structures, complex waterfall mechanics, preferred return and carried interest calculations, and fund-level performance metrics such as Internal Rate of Return (IRR), Multiple on Invested Capital (MOIC), and Distributions to Paid-In Capital (DPI) is essential for success in this position.
• • You will meticulously review investment activity to ensure its proper accounting treatment, accurate settlement details, and complete alignment with fund agreements, safeguarding the company's financial interests.
• • Developing and updating accounting policies, procedures, and documentation will be a key responsibility, contributing to a robust and compliant accounting framework.
• • Collaboration is central to this role. You will work closely with investor relations, legal, treasury, tax, and compliance teams to ensure seamless cross-functional alignment and the timely delivery of accurate financial reporting.
