- • We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Product Manager (E1) to join our dynamic team at tem, a company at the forefront of revolutionizing the energy transaction market. This is a pivotal individual contributor role, focused on driving product strategy and execution for a critical product area that empowers customers who sell their energy. You will be the sole accountable product owner, responsible for everything from initial product strategy and intricate workflow design to the implementation of sophisticated systems, data management, and the integration of AI-enabled optimization and automation.
- • Your primary mission will be to rebuild the energy transaction landscape, making it transparent, fair, and accessible. We aim to shift power back to the hands of customers and tackle the monumental challenge of providing low-cost electricity. tem was founded to disrupt a global energy market historically dominated by legacy operators, intermediaries, and opaque pricing structures. The current electricity system is ill-equipped for rapid decarbonization, AI-driven efficiencies, or equitable access for businesses and generators. Our innovative, AI-native transaction infrastructure is designed to eliminate inefficient fees, automate complex market processes, and instill transparency and fairness in energy transactions at a global scale.
- • As a Lead Product Manager, you will operate with significant scope, influence, and accountability, working collaboratively with peer leads in engineering, data, go-to-market (GTM), and commercial teams. You will be instrumental in shaping the future of our modern utility product, RED, which has already demonstrated remarkable success by facilitating thousands of business customers and billions in energy transaction value, proving the transformative power of modern software and AI in an industry steeped in legacy systems.
- • Your core responsibilities will encompass owning the product strategy and roadmap for your designated area from inception to completion, ensuring that all initiatives directly contribute to key company drivers such as revenue growth, customer retention, scalability, and market credibility. A crucial aspect of your role will be to meticulously frame the right problems before jumping to solutions, distinguishing between symptoms and root causes through rigorous research, data analysis, and first-principles thinking.
- • Embracing an AI-first approach is paramount. You will actively seek opportunities to apply AI across various facets of your product area, including workflow automation, intelligent decision support, anomaly detection, predictive optimization, and forecasting. This involves designing robust systems that can reliably operate under real-world constraints, making deliberate and informed trade-offs between development speed, product quality, user trust, and operational costs.
- • You will be responsible for articulating clear product narratives and establishing high standards for decision-making, empowering cross-functional teams to move with speed and clarity. This requires exceptional orchestration skills, influencing without direct authority through sound strategic thinking and structured, compelling communication across Engineering, Design, Data, Operations, and GTM teams.
- • A key element of your role is to make risks visible and explicit, fostering confidence that all product decisions are sound, auditable, and designed for scalability. Success in this role will be measured by the tangible impact of your work on core company drivers, a demonstrable reduction in operational burdens and manual interventions in key workflows, the enablement of clearer, faster, and better-reasoned decisions across your product domain, and the delivery of customer experiences that are perceived as reliable, fair, and increasingly seamless.
