  • • Design and implement preventive safeguarding measures tailored to diverse operational environments, including HQ staff, retail shops, warehouses, and field sales agents.
  • • Deliver training programs that drive measurable behavioral change and foster a culture of safeguarding across all levels of the organization.
  • • Serve as the primary point of contact for survivors of workplace harm, managing the full incident lifecycle from first response through investigation, follow-up support, third-party referrals, and case closure.
  • • Monitor and attend all reporting channels to ensure no incident goes unheard or unacted upon, maintaining confidentiality and sensitivity throughout the process.
  • • Conduct and support administrative investigations into safeguarding incidents, liaising with law enforcement, hospitals, counselors, and specialist external service providers as needed.
  • • Manage and document all incidents through M-KOPA’s global grievance platform, ensuring compliance with company standard operating procedures.

  • • Build and maintain trusted relationships with local third parties including law enforcement, healthcare providers, and support services to enable effective incident response in Nigeria’s cultural and legal context.
  • • Operate with emotional resilience and professional discipline when handling confidential, distressing cases, often without a predefined playbook, in a context where GBV is significantly underreported.
  • • Champion cultural change by modeling and promoting safeguarding as a daily practice, not just a policy, and ensuring accountability at all levels of the organization.

  • • Deep knowledge of Nigeria’s legal framework and cultural context surrounding workplace harm, including GBVH and sexual violence.
  • • Established relationships or ability to rapidly build relationships with Nigerian law enforcement, hospitals, counselors, and specialist service providers.
  • • Proven communication and training skills to sensitize diverse teams and drive real behavioral change.
  • • Direct experience handling cases of gender-based violence and sexual violence, particularly in low-reporting contexts.
  • • Personal resilience and professional discipline to manage confidential, distressing situations with care, confidentiality, and calm under pressure.

🏖️ Benefits

  • • Opportunities for career ownership through diverse development programs, coaching partnerships, and on-the-job training.
  • • Family-friendly policies and prioritization of employee well-being.
  • • Flexibility in work arrangements within the on-site Lagos office environment.
