- • Lead the design and preparation of protection and control drawings for high-voltage substations ranging from 12kV to 500kV, including protective schemes, relay one-line and three-line diagrams, AC/DC schematics, substation panel layouts, wiring diagrams, and cable schedules.
- • Perform DC and AC systems calculations to support substation protection and control system design.
- • Develop equipment specifications and selections based on client requirements and design criteria.
- • Create detailed bills of materials aligned with project design specifications and client standards.
- • Coordinate with physical, settings, and drafting disciplines to ensure accuracy, consistency, and quality across all deliverables.
- • Participate in client meetings and conduct site visits as needed to gather field data and validate design assumptions.
- • Interpret and integrate vendor technical information into design documentation to ensure compatibility and compliance.
- • Apply client-specific engineering standards and industry best practices to all design packages.
- • Provide field support during substation construction phases to assist with implementation and resolve technical issues.
- • Ensure strict adherence to company QA/QC processes for all protection and control design packages.
- • Continuously improve technical knowledge, engineering skills, and professional performance through ongoing learning and process optimization.
- • Work independently from a home office within Ontario or Saskatchewan, demonstrating self-sufficiency, proactive problem-solving, and accountability without direct supervision.
- • Collaborate effectively as an active team member, prioritizing collective goals and contributing to a client-focused engineering culture.
- • Maintain up-to-date proficiency in Bluebeam, AutoCAD, and MicroStation for all design and documentation tasks.
- • Support the team’s mission to reimagine and re-engineer electric utility solutions by delivering high-quality, innovative engineering services.
🎯 Requirements
- • BS in Engineering, preferably electrical or computer engineering
- • 8+ years of protection and controls experience
- • 5+ years of experience working with Bluebeam, AutoCAD, and MicroStation
