  • • Lead the design, development, and implementation of advanced Tableau dashboards and data visualizations to support clinical, administrative, and operational decision-making across Memorial Hermann Health System.
  • • Serve as the primary technical expert for BI toolsets including Tableau, SQL, and data preparation tools such as Tableau Prep, Alteryx, or Trifacta, providing guidance to junior analysts and cross-functional teams.
  • • Partner with clinical, administrative, and payer stakeholders to translate complex business needs into actionable analytics solutions focused on Population Health and Value-Based Care initiatives.
  • • Extract, integrate, and normalize disparate healthcare data sources—including claims, Epic EMR, and population health datasets—into the enterprise data warehouse (EDW) via ETL processes or normalization techniques.
  • • Troubleshoot and resolve complex data quality, reporting, and dashboard performance issues to ensure accuracy and reliability of analytics deliverables.
  • • Lead end-to-end analytics projects from requirement gathering and data sourcing to delivery and ongoing support, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives and executive priorities.
  • • Mentor and train other BI and Technical Analysts on best practices in data visualization, SQL querying, and analytical methodology, fostering a culture of continuous learning within the Analytics Team.
  • • Collaborate with the Data Governance Program to ensure data integrity, validity, and compliance across all reporting and visualization applications.
  • • Develop and maintain self-service analytic tools and dashboards that enable non-technical users to monitor key performance metrics and drive data-informed decisions.
  • • Act as a trusted advisor to executive leadership by presenting clear, compelling insights derived from complex healthcare datasets through visual storytelling and concise reporting.
  • • Champion the adoption of emerging analytics technologies and techniques to advance Memorial Hermann’s analytics maturity across descriptive, diagnostic, predictive, and prescriptive analytics.
  • • Conduct regular ad-hoc analyses and executive-level reporting to support strategic planning, operational optimization, and performance improvement initiatives.
  • • Ensure all analytics work adheres to Memorial Hermann’s policies, standards, and budgetary requirements while promoting patient safety, compassion, and efficiency.
  • • Maintain and enhance proficiency in SQL, database systems (e.g., Oracle, Vertica, Snowflake), statistical tools (e.g., R, SAS), and MS Office Suite (Excel with PivotTables, VBA, Macros).
  • • Participate in the development of training curriculum and onboarding materials for new analytics professionals to uphold organizational standards and competency levels.
  • • Demonstrate intellectual curiosity by proactively identifying new data-driven opportunities to improve patient outcomes and operational efficiency.
  • • Foster a collaborative, positive team environment that encourages innovation, accountability, and professional growth among analytics team members.
  • • Communicate effectively across all levels of the organization, translating technical findings into non-technical language for diverse audiences including clinicians, administrators, and executives.
  • • Support Memorial Hermann’s mission by creating compassionate, personalized, and efficient experiences for patients and colleagues through data-driven insights.

🎯 Requirements

  • • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, management information systems, data science, business administration, statistics, or related field; Master’s degree strongly preferred
  • • Minimum of 7 years professional experience in designing, building, and delivering analytics reports, dashboards, and tools for decision-making
  • • Expert proficiency in Tableau (preferred) and advanced SQL skills
  • • Minimum of 7 years experience working with complex healthcare datasets including claims, population health, and value-based care data
  • • Proven ability to lead analytics projects independently and mentor junior analysts
  • • Experience with Epic EMR and healthcare operations preferred
