- • As the Leadership Recruiter at Whatnot, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the company’s next phase of growth by identifying and securing executive talent that will drive innovation and impact across Technology and Business functions. This is a strategic, high-impact position where you will build Whatnot’s executive recruiting function from the ground up, directly influencing leadership quality and organizational capability during a period of explosive growth.
- • You will lead end-to-end recruitment for Director-level, VP/C-Suite, and L8+ engineering roles, managing complex searches with precision and speed while ensuring exceptional candidate experiences that reflect Whatnot’s culture of low ego, high impact, and growth mindset. Your work will directly empower critical teams and support succession planning, making you a trusted advisor to executives and a key partner in organizational success.
- • You will design and implement foundational executive recruiting processes, including talent landscape mapping, market calibration, referral programs, and targeted outreach strategies, creating a sustainable pipeline of leadership talent and positioning Whatnot as an employer of choice for top-tier leaders in competitive markets.
- • You will collaborate closely with Corporate Development on acquihires, People Business Partners, Compensation, and functional leaders to align hiring goals with business objectives, ensuring seamless integration of talent through M&A and internal mobility initiatives.
- • You will leverage data and market intelligence to inform recruiting decisions, advise executives on leadership hiring strategies, and contribute to long-term workforce planning, blending relationship-driven sourcing with analytical rigor.
- • You will operate within a remote co-located model, required to be within commuting distance of Whatnot’s hubs in San Francisco, Los Angeles, New York City, or Seattle, enabling in-person collaboration while maintaining flexibility.
- • You will join a mission-driven, fast-moving team committed to building the future of live commerce, where your contributions will help enable passionate individuals to turn their interests into businesses and foster global communities through innovative shopping experiences.
🎯 Requirements
- • 10+ years of recruiting experience, with at least 5+ years of in-house leadership hiring experience at high-growth startups
- • Proven track record of successfully hiring executives and leaders across Technical and Business teams, including Director, VP, C-Suite, and L8+ engineering roles
- • Deep executive network and strong sourcing capabilities, with a passion for building relationships with passive talent and navigating complex leadership markets
