  • • As the Learning and Development Lead at Mears Group PLC, you will be instrumental in shaping and executing the company's learning and development strategy, ensuring our vast workforce of over 5,500 employees is equipped with the skills and knowledge necessary to excel.
  • • This pivotal role involves overseeing the Curriculum and Delivery function, ensuring all learning initiatives are strategically aligned with Mears' overarching business objectives and responsive to the dynamic needs of our employees and the housing sector.
  • • You will be responsible for developing and implementing innovative, engaging, and effective learning programmes that foster both individual professional growth and significant organisational advancement.
  • • A core aspect of your role will be to lead, manage, and mentor a high-performing team of L&D Specialists and Skills Trainers, cultivating a strong culture of continuous learning, professional development, and collaborative success.
  • • You will champion the creation of impactful learning experiences by working closely with the Quality and Design team, subject matter experts, and various business stakeholders to identify and address critical skill gaps and evolving colleague needs.
  • • This leadership position requires you to build and maintain robust relationships across the business, acting as a trusted expert and consultant in all matters of learning and development.
  • • You will engage with stakeholders in a consultative capacity to identify key training needs, collaboratively develop effective training strategies, and directly support business performance improvement initiatives.
  • • A key responsibility is to partner with programme sponsors throughout the entire design and development lifecycle of learning programmes, ensuring their relevance and efficacy.
  • • You will foster strong, collaborative relationships with stakeholders to effectively communicate and promote learning and apprenticeship projects across the entire organisation, driving engagement and participation.
  • • Close collaboration with wider HR teams is essential to ensure that all learning and development programmes seamlessly support the company's broader learning, apprenticeship strategies, and talent development objectives.
  • • You will be tasked with implementing robust evaluation methodologies to continuously assess and improve the quality and impact of our learning offerings, using colleague feedback and evolving business needs as key drivers for enhancement.
  • • The role also involves supporting the development of comprehensive reports and return on investment (ROI) analyses, crucial for measuring and demonstrating the tangible impact of learning initiatives on business outcomes.
  • • You will be responsible for developing, coordinating, and delivering a diverse range of innovative training solutions, encompassing face-to-face learning programmes, targeted short courses, and broader corporate initiatives designed to meet varied learning requirements.
