Full Job Description

📋 Description

  • • As Legal Counsel at Attio Ltd, you will serve as a strategic enabler for business growth by providing clear, actionable legal guidance that allows teams to move fast with confidence while managing risk in a high-growth, product-led technology company.
  • • You will play a pivotal role in shaping Attio’s legal infrastructure by drafting and negotiating commercial contracts, supporting global compliance efforts, contributing to corporate governance, and building scalable legal processes that keep pace with the company’s international expansion and innovation in AI-driven CRM solutions.
  • • Join a mission-driven team at Attio, a fast-scaling CRM platform backed by $116M from top-tier investors including GV (Google Ventures), Redpoint, Balderton, Point Nine, and 01A, where legal is viewed not as a gatekeeper but as a catalyst for innovation and global expansion.
  • • Your day-to-day responsibilities will include efficiently drafting, reviewing, and negotiating sales contracts, SaaS agreements, NDAs, and procurement documents to reduce friction in the sales cycle while protecting company interests.
  • • You will provide pragmatic, business-first legal advice to cross-functional teams in Product, Engineering, Marketing, Finance, and People, translating complex legal concepts into clear, actionable guidance that enables rapid decision-making and sustained momentum.
  • • You will proactively support compliance with data protection regulations (including GDPR), AI governance frameworks, employment law, and corporate requirements as Attio expands into new markets and regions globally.
  • • You will contribute to company secretarial duties, manage equity plans, and ensure readiness for fundraising and due diligence by maintaining accurate legal records and supporting governance processes.
  • • You will simplify legal complexity by creating playbooks, templates, and tools that improve consistency, speed, and scalability across legal workflows, helping the business adopt new technologies safely and efficiently.
  • • You will work closely with a diverse range of stakeholders in a fast-moving, ambitious environment where ownership, initiative, and a bias for action are valued and rewarded.
  • • This role offers significant opportunity to grow your expertise in technology law, AI regulation, international compliance, and startup-scale legal operations while making a tangible impact on a company building the future of customer relationship management.

🎯 Requirements

  • • UK-qualified lawyer with approximately 3 years’ post-qualification experience (3PQE), ideally with experience in both UK and international jurisdictions, particularly the US and Europe.
  • • Proven in-house experience working at a fast-moving tech company or scale-up, demonstrating comfort with ambiguity, rapid change, and cross-functional collaboration in a startup or scale-up environment.
  • • Strong commercial contracting skills, including confident drafting and negotiation of SaaS agreements, NDAs, procurement contracts, and other commercial arrangements, with the ability to balance legal risk with business objectives.
  • • Familiarity with data protection laws (e.g., GDPR), AI regulatory considerations, employment law, and corporate governance, with a generalist mindset and willingness to handle varied legal matters.
  • • Demonstrated interest in leveraging AI and modern legal technology to improve efficiency, accuracy, and scalability of legal processes.
  • • Ownership mindset: ability to manage tasks end-to-end, take initiative, and follow through without requiring close supervision.
  • • Excellent communication skills, with a talent for breaking down complex legal issues into simple, pragmatic advice that non-legal teams can understand and act upon.
  • • High energy, bias for action, and comfort operating at both strategic and detailed levels, thriving in a fast-paced, innovative culture.

🏖️ Benefits

  • • Competitive salary range of ÂŁ90,000 – ÂŁ110,000 per year, reflecting the seniority and impact of the role within a high-growth tech company.
  • • Equity participation in Attio Ltd, offering meaningful ownership in an early-stage company backed by leading venture capital firms and positioned for significant growth.
  • • 25 days of annual leave plus local public holidays, supporting work-life balance and sustained performance.
  • • Provision of Apple hardware (MacBook and related devices) to ensure you have best-in-class tools for your work.
  • • Private medical insurance through AXA, providing comprehensive health coverage for you and your family.
  • • Pension contributions facilitated through Hargreaves Lansdown, supporting long-term financial security.
  • • Enhanced family leave policies, exceeding statutory minimums to support parents and caregivers.
  • • Regular team off-sites in exciting international destinations (recent examples include Barcelona, Lisbon, Malta, and Split), fostering connection, collaboration, and culture.
