  • • Own the commercial contract framework to enable Almedia’s rapid expansion into new global markets, drafting and negotiating high-stakes partner agreements with global advertisers and third parties.
  • • Provide real-time, pragmatic legal advice on product features, privacy compliance, and employment law to ensure growth remains unblocked while minimizing legal risk.
  • • Execute a broad generalist legal scope, including corporate secretarial tasks, corporate governance, board documentation, and regulatory filings as needed.
  • • Partner directly with the General Counsel to transition the legal function from a solo operation to a scalable, high-velocity legal team capable of supporting hypergrowth.
  • • Navigate complex international legal landscapes across multiple jurisdictions, adapting contractual structures and compliance protocols to local requirements without slowing business momentum.
  • • Draft, review, and approve all commercial agreements including advertising, data processing, influencer partnerships, and vendor contracts with speed and precision.
  • • Proactively identify legal risks associated with new product features, user incentive models, and monetization strategies, delivering actionable solutions that align with business objectives.
  • • Maintain accurate legal records, corporate registries, and internal documentation to ensure compliance with German and EU legal standards.
  • • Act as a trusted legal advisor across departments—including product, engineering, marketing, and operations—ensuring legal considerations are embedded early in decision-making processes.
  • • Prioritize speed and practicality over formalism; produce concise, actionable legal guidance rather than lengthy memos or overly cautious advice.
  • • Support the scaling of Almedia’s workforce by advising on employment contracts, internal policies, and labor law compliance in alignment with German and EU regulations.
  • • Represent Almedia in legal negotiations with external counsel, regulators, and partners, maintaining the company’s reputation for integrity and operational agility.
  • • Stay current on evolving regulatory trends in digital advertising, data privacy (GDPR), and consumer protection laws across Europe and key international markets.
  • • Contribute to the development of scalable legal processes and templates that reduce reliance on external counsel and increase internal efficiency.
  • • Be fully present in the Berlin office five days a week to foster high-intensity collaboration and maintain the fast-paced, momentum-driven culture of the company.
  • • Embrace a high-ownership mindset—take initiative, act autonomously, and deliver results under pressure without waiting for direction.
  • • Balance legal rigor with business urgency, understanding that speed is a competitive advantage and legal function must enable, not hinder, growth.

🎯 Requirements

  • • Legal experience within a fast-paced startup or SME environment
  • • Legal Qualification: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree with a rock-solid foundation in commercial and contract law
  • • Proven ability to navigate commercial landscapes and international growth
  • • Fluency in German (bonus)
  • • Prior experience handling privacy topics and working in startup or scale-up environments (bonus)
  • • Pragmatic, solution-oriented operator who values business results over formal bureaucracy
