- • Serve as the primary legal contact for Sales and RevOps, owning end-to-end commercial contracting processes and managing daily deal flow across the business.
- • Lead the negotiation and drafting of all core commercial agreements including Order Forms, Terms of Service, NDAs, and custom addenda, ensuring alignment with business objectives and risk tolerance.
- • Act as the main legal liaison for vendor agreements, collaborating with the Procurement Manager to review, negotiate, and approve contracts routed through procurement, escalating complex matters to the broader legal team as needed.
- • Operate as the primary user of Ironclad contract management platform, optimizing workflows to streamline contract creation, approval, and tracking while maintaining compliance and audit readiness.
- • Manage high-volume contract demands including renewals, amendments, non-standard terms, and urgent requests without compromising accuracy or timeliness.
- • Provide timely, practical legal guidance to sales and operations teams, balancing commercial urgency with legal risk, and ensuring contracts are signed efficiently without unnecessary delays.
- • Proactively identify recurring contractual issues and develop scalable, repeatable solutions to reduce manual effort and improve turnaround times.
- • Support adjacent legal functions as business needs arise, including Company Secretarial duties, corporate governance documentation, and internal policy development.
- • Maintain clear, proactive communication with stakeholders across Sales, RevOps, Procurement, and executive leadership, providing concise legal advice without requiring follow-up.
- • Operate with the ownership and urgency of a business owner, identifying work that needs to be done and executing it independently without waiting for direction.
- • Deliver high-quality legal output consistently under pressure, demonstrating strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and reliability in fast-paced, high-volume environments.
- • Collaborate effectively within a small, senior legal team, sharing knowledge, seeking input when needed, and prioritizing team success over individual recognition.
- • Adapt flexibly to evolving business priorities, stepping into new areas such as corporate support or compliance tasks when required, without resistance or delay.
- • Contribute to a culture of continuous improvement by refining contract templates, standardizing processes, and enhancing cross-functional workflows to support 9fin’s rapid scaling.
🎯 Requirements
- • 5 to 7 years post-qualification experience as a commercial contracts lawyer
- • Qualified in England & Wales or New York State
- • Proven experience negotiating and drafting sales and vendor contracts in a fast-paced corporate or startup environment
- • Proficiency in using Ironclad or similar contract lifecycle management platforms
- • Demonstrated ability to manage high-volume contract work with accuracy and speed
- • Strong communication skills with a proactive, solution-oriented approach
