- • Own the full life-cycle of complex commercial agreements—from first red-line to signature—covering cloud SaaS, channel, reseller, managed-services, marketplace, data-protection, and professional-services contracts. You will be the single point of accountability for every clause, risk matrix, and fallback position.
- • Lead high-stakes negotiations with Fortune-500 customers, global system integrators, strategic resellers, and hyperscale marketplaces. Translate legal complexity into plain-English talking points so Sales can confidently defend positions and Finance can model revenue impact in real time.
- • Architect and continuously evolve Freshworks’ global contract templates, clause libraries, and negotiation playbooks. Build guardrails that let junior counsel and business teams self-serve 70 % of deals while you focus on the 30 % that move the needle.
- • Embed yourself with Sales, Finance, Deals Desk, and Professional Services squads as a trusted deal quarterback. Run weekly pipeline reviews, flag revenue blockers, and design win-win commercial structures that shave days off sales cycles without increasing risk.
- • Stay ahead of shifting privacy and AI regulations—GDPR, CCPA, India DPDP Act, EU AI Act—by translating new rules into actionable policies, product requirements, and customer-facing documentation. Partner with Security & Compliance to run tabletop breach drills and vendor audits.
- • Counsel Product and Engineering on open-source license compliance, cybersecurity frameworks, and responsible-AI governance. Draft customer-facing security addenda and internal policies that turn compliance into a competitive differentiator.
- • Advise the C-suite on corporate governance, M&A due-diligence, public-company readiness, and cross-border expansion. Present concise risk memos that equip executives to make fast, informed decisions.
- • Mentor junior attorneys and contract managers through structured training, shadow negotiations, and quarterly OKRs. Foster a culture where legal is seen as a growth engine, not a bottleneck.
- • Champion legal-ops innovation—implement e-signature workflows, AI contract-review tools, and data-driven KPI dashboards that give the business real-time visibility into deal velocity and risk exposure.
- • Represent Freshworks externally at industry forums, customer audits, and regulatory consultations, positioning the company as a thought leader in responsible SaaS and ethical AI.
