- ⢠As the founding Legal Operations Director at Juniper Square, you will build the legal operations function from the ground up, designing and implementing scalable processes that enable the legal team to operate with efficiency, insight, and impact in a fast-paced, evolving enterprise environment. This role is critical to unlocking the full potential of private markets by ensuring legal services are delivered seamlessly across commercial, financial, technical, and HR workflows.
- ⢠You will lead the vision and execution of Legal Operations, driving clarity, accountability, and operational alignment across the Legal function while serving as a strategic partner to the Head of Legal in shaping long-term operational plans and leading annual and quarterly planning cycles.
- ⢠Your day-to-day responsibilities will include owning and optimizing the legal technology stackâwith deep accountability for Ironclad configuration, workflow design, reporting, and adoptionâdesigning and managing legal intake and matter-management processes to increase self-service, and evaluating and implementing AI-enabled tools, workflow automation, knowledge systems, and document management solutions to improve speed, visibility, and scale.
- ⢠You will build and maintain legal knowledge repositories, playbooks, templates, and process documentation (e.g., in Confluence) to enable self-serve contracting and reduce routine legal touchpoints, while defining, tracking, and reporting on KPIs for cycle times, throughput, backlog, service levels, and operational risk to drive continuous improvement through data and root-cause analysis.
- ⢠You will lead change-management efforts for new systems, processes, and organizational shifts, including communication plans, training, and adoption tracking, and build the Legal Operations team from the ground up, scaling it over time as the company grows.
- ⢠You will oversee vendor relationships for legal technology, ALSPs, and outside counselâincluding selection, contracting, performance management, and cost optimizationâand own or co-own e-billing and outside counsel spend management, partnering with Finance to track spend, enforce billing guidelines, and identify savings opportunities.
- ⢠You will help manage the Legal department budget and forecasts, ensure disciplined financial operations across tools, vendors, and outside counsel, and oversee virtual data rooms and legal operations support for M&A, financings, and other strategic transactions.
- ⢠You will partner closely with Sales, Services, Procurement, Deal Desk, FP&A, Accounting, Security, Product, and People Operations to ensure legal processes align with commercial, financial, HR/employee, technical, and companywide operational workflows.
