- ⢠The Legal Operations Lead at Trustly Group AB is a pivotal role responsible for optimizing and scaling the legal function to support the companyās rapid growth in the global Open Banking Payments space. This position ensures that legal processes are efficient, compliant, and aligned with business objectives, enabling Trustly to maintain its leadership in secure, innovative payment solutions while navigating complex regulatory landscapes across multiple jurisdictions.
- ⢠Reporting into the General Counsel or Head of Legal, the Legal Operations Lead will design, implement, and continuously improve legal workflows, technology systems, vendor management, and performance metrics to increase the effectiveness and agility of the legal team. This role bridges legal expertise with operational excellence, allowing lawyers to focus on high-value strategic work while ensuring the department runs like a high-performing business unit.
- ⢠Day-to-day responsibilities include: developing and managing the legal departmentās budget and financial planning; implementing and overseeing legal technology tools such as contract lifecycle management (CLM) systems, e-billing platforms, and matter management software; establishing standardized processes for contract drafting, review, approval, and storage; managing relationships with external law firms and alternative legal service providers, including fee negotiation and performance monitoring; creating and tracking key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure legal team efficiency, cycle times, and cost-effectiveness; ensuring compliance with internal policies and external regulations, particularly around data privacy (GDPR), financial services regulations, and cross-border transactions; supporting legal hold and e-discovery processes when needed; leading initiatives to improve knowledge management and internal legal training programs; collaborating closely with finance, HR, compliance, and product teams to align legal operations with broader company goals; and driving continuous improvement through process automation, workflow optimization, and change management.

šÆ Requirements
- ⢠Bachelorās degree in Law, Business Administration, or a related field; advanced degree or paralegal certification preferred
- ⢠Minimum 5 years of experience in legal operations, law firm management, or in-house legal support within a corporate or financial services environment
- ⢠Proven experience implementing and managing legal technology systems (e.g., CLM, e-billing, matter management)
- ⢠Strong understanding of GDPR, financial services regulations, and compliance frameworks relevant to payments and fintech
- ⢠Excellent project management, analytical, and process improvement skills with a data-driven mindset
- ⢠Exceptional communication and stakeholder management abilities, with fluency in English; additional European languages a plus
