Full Job Description
📋 Description
- • Administers Linux/Unix development, test, and production servers including reloading, re-imaging, patching, configuration, and shell-level maintenance.
- • Diagnoses and resolves complex Linux/Unix operating system, service, and connectivity issues through advanced troubleshooting.
- • Performs daily monitoring of Linux/Unix systems, services, and performance metrics, initiating proactive remediation to prevent outages.
- • Installs, removes, and upgrades Linux/Unix software packages using native package managers such as yum, apt, and rpm.
- • Owns Level 2 Linux/Unix-related incident tickets through full resolution, including root cause analysis and documentation.
- • Provides system evaluation reports and contributes operational recommendations to improve Linux/Unix environment performance and stability.
- • Updates system records, ensures licensing compliance, and maintains accurate configuration data for all Linux/Unix assets.
- • Creates runbooks and how-to guides to standardize procedures and trains Level 1 analysts on Linux/Unix operational tasks.
- • Supports 24×7 operations with a scheduled shift of 3pm - 12am EST.
- • May be required to support Windows systems if credentials are held and permitted.
- • Ensures compliance with U.S. export control regulations by maintaining eligibility for required government authorizations.
🎯 Requirements
- • BA/BS degree and 2–4 years of relevant experience OR equivalent combination
- • Strong experience with Linux/Unix troubleshooting and server administration
- • Ability to support 24×7 operations and rotating shifts
- • U.S. Citizenship and U.S. residency required
- • May hold Windows credentials if permitted
- • Shift: 3pm - 12am EST
