- • As a Lingala Interpreter at LanguageLine Solutions, you will play a vital role in breaking down language and cultural barriers for limited-English speakers and the Deaf and Hard-of-Hearing across critical sectors such as healthcare, government, law enforcement, and emergency services, directly improving access to essential services.
- • Your day-to-day responsibilities include responding promptly to on-demand interpreting calls, accurately conveying meaning between Lingala and English speakers without omissions or additions, maintaining professionalism and cultural sensitivity, and handling high-stress or emotionally charged situations such as 911 calls or medical consultations with composure and adherence to protocol.

🎯 Requirements
- • Fluency in Lingala and English with strong cultural competency and ability to navigate regional accents and dialects
- • Excellent listening, retention, and note-taking skills to ensure high accuracy during interpretation
- • Ability to remain neutral, objective, and composed during sensitive or emotionally intense calls, including end-of-life discussions or emergency situations
- • High school diploma or equivalent, and legal authorization to work in the United States without visa sponsorship
- • Access to a dedicated personal device (Windows, MacOS, ChromeOS, iPadOS, or Android) and a high-speed internet connection (minimum 5 Mbps download, 3 Mbps upload, <300 ms ping, <30 ms jitter)
- • Must be able to work from a quiet, distraction-free home environment and operate standard input devices for extended periods
