- • Translate content between Brazilian Portuguese and US English while preserving cultural nuance, clarity, and contextual relevance across digital platforms.
- • Edit and refine translated language content for accuracy, tone, and stylistic appropriateness in marketing and technical contexts.
- • Apply current language standards, usage trends, and industry best practices to all translation deliverables.
- • Evaluate and provide structured feedback to improve the quality of AI language models through human-in-the-loop validation.
- • Collaborate with Production and cross-functional teams to localize digital tools, applications, and marketing materials for Brazilian Portuguese-speaking markets.
- • Support content development and quality assurance processes for AI-driven language technology products.
- • Perform transcreation when required, creatively adapting source text to ensure natural, culturally resonant output in the target language without literal translation.
- • Work independently on assigned translation tasks with no fixed hours, managing your own schedule as an independent contractor.
- • Deliver high-quality translations on time, adhering to project deadlines and quality benchmarks.
- • Maintain strict adherence to provided terminology guides, style sheets, and reference materials for consistency across projects.
- • Contribute to a global community of linguists advancing human-machine communication through accurate, nuanced language processing.
- • Engage with diverse, innovative projects spanning industries such as enterprise software, government, and AI development.
- • Participate in a streamlined onboarding process including application submission, domain-specific testing, and payment setup upon selection.
- • Operate as a 1099 contractor with no guaranteed hours, benefits, or employment status; work availability fluctuates with project demand.
- • Commit to a minimum of 2 hours per day or 10 hours per week to maintain active status and reliability in task delivery.
- • Ensure compliance with geographic restrictions — contractors must be located in regions not subject to international embargo or sanctions.
- • Assume full responsibility for personal tax obligations and legal compliance as an independent contractor.
🎯 Requirements
- • Native-level proficiency in Brazilian Portuguese and US English
- • Graduate qualification in translation, linguistics, or language studies OR graduate qualification in another field plus 2 years of full-time professional translation experience OR 5 years of full-time professional translation experience
- • Ability to follow terminology and reference materials precisely
- • Reliable availability to meet minimum weekly time commitment of 10 hours
- • Access to a stable internet connection and digital tools required for translation work
- • Residency in a country not subject to international embargo or sanctions
