- • Lilt is seeking skilled Linguists/Transcribers with native-level proficiency in Chichewa/Nyanja to join a global team supporting advanced language technology development. This role is crucial for creating high-quality verbatim transcriptions and English translations from real audio data, directly contributing to the advancement of AI and language processing capabilities.
- • As a Linguist/Transcriber, your primary responsibilities will involve producing accurate verbatim transcripts from audio recordings, meticulously capturing all spoken content, including background noises and crosstalk, while strictly adhering to provided annotation guidelines. You will also be responsible for translating these transcribed segments into natural, fluent English, ensuring that the original meaning, tone, and cultural nuances of the spoken language are preserved.
- • Depending on project needs and your skillset, you may also be involved in quality review processes. This includes meticulously reviewing and correcting transcripts and translations to ensure their accuracy and completeness. You will also provide structured, constructive feedback on any linguistic issues identified, helping to maintain and improve the overall quality of the data.
- • In some instances, there is an opportunity for a dual role, where linguists can contribute to both transcription and translation tasks. This integrated workflow allows for a comprehensive involvement, from processing raw audio into a transcript to delivering the final English translation within a single project pipeline.
- • This role offers significant flexibility as an independent contractor. You have the autonomy to set your own schedule and work as much or as little as you desire, without the constraints of fixed hours, mandatory check-ins, or micromanagement. This independence allows you to integrate the work seamlessly into your existing commitments.
- • You will be working on projects that are at the forefront of AI and language technology. Your contributions will directly impact the development of cutting-edge systems that are transforming how humans and machines communicate across different languages.
- • You will become part of a diverse and dynamic global community of linguists, subject matter experts, and language professionals. This collaborative environment fosters the exchange of knowledge and skills, collectively advancing human understanding and technological innovation.
- • This position offers unparalleled opportunities for professional growth. By engaging with a variety of innovative projects, you can expand your professional portfolio, refine your language and transcription skills, and gain experience across different industries and domains. This continuous learning and development are central to the Lilt contractor experience.
- • The role is designed to be engaging and rewarding, allowing you to leverage your passion for languages in meaningful ways. You will work on projects that are not only intellectually stimulating but also have a significant real-world impact, bringing your language expertise to life.
- • Lilt is a company at the forefront of transforming global communication through AI. Our mission is to make information accessible to everyone, regardless of their language. We foster a culture of innovation, excellence, and collaboration, bringing together diverse talents to deliver multilingual AI and human-verified services to a global clientele.
