Full Job Description

đź“‹ Description

  • • Be the calm, trusted voice families rely on when they need it most. As a Long Term Care Claims Representative – Payment Servicing at Genworth, you will sit at the intersection of compassion and precision, ensuring that every policyholder receives the financial support they are entitled to—on time, every time. You will manage a dynamic queue of claims, adjudicate complex payment decisions, and safeguard the integrity of each transaction while upholding the human dignity of aging adults and their loved ones.
  • • Own the end-to-end payment lifecycle for long-term care claims across multiple product lines. From the moment eligibility is confirmed until the final check is issued, you will verify benefit calculations, reconcile discrepancies, and release accurate payments—all while documenting every action in our secure systems for audit and compliance purposes.
  • • Serve as a proactive communicator. You will field incoming calls and place outbound calls to policyholders, powers of attorney, nursing facilities, and agents, translating intricate policy language into clear, empathetic guidance. Your ability to listen without judgment and explain without jargon will turn anxious callers into confident partners in the claims process.
  • • Champion continuous process improvement. By identifying patterns in payment errors, system gaps, or customer pain points, you will collaborate with Quality Assurance, IT, Compliance, and the Contact Center to refine Standard Operating Procedures and create training materials that elevate the entire Payment Servicing team.
  • • Master multiple technology platforms with ease. You will toggle between dual monitors, navigate proprietary claims systems, and leverage Microsoft Office 365—Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Teams—to track metrics, draft correspondence, and share insights that drive smarter decisions.
  • • Thrive in a fast-paced, metrics-driven environment without losing sight of the human story behind every claim. Aggressive deadlines and shifting priorities are daily realities, yet your critical thinking and problem-solving skills will ensure that accuracy and empathy remain non-negotiable.
  • • Participate in a rigorous, fully virtual classroom training program for the first several months. You will be on-camera, actively engaging with facilitators and peers to absorb policy provisions, medical terminology, HIPAA requirements, and state-specific regulations. Graduation from training is not just encouraged—it is mandatory before you transition to live claims.
  • • Mentor and uplift colleagues through buddy programs, peer shadowing, and ad-hoc training sessions. Your willingness to share best practices and coach new hires will strengthen team cohesion and reduce ramp-up time for future representatives.
  • • Maintain the agility to step outside your core role when business needs evolve. Whether it’s testing a new software release, piloting a workflow change, or supporting disaster-recovery efforts, you will embrace each stretch assignment as a growth opportunity.
  • • Ensure every workspace interaction—virtual or in-person—reflects Genworth’s four core values: Make it human, make it about others, make it happen, and make it better. Your daily decisions will reinforce a culture where diversity is celebrated, inclusion is intentional, and every associate feels a profound sense of belonging.
  • • Uphold strict confidentiality and security standards. You will work from a dedicated, distraction-free home office with a stable 50 mbps internet connection, safeguarding sensitive health and financial data in accordance with HIPAA and internal compliance protocols.

🎯 Requirements

  • • Minimum 2 years of professional customer service experience in a corporate setting, preferably with exposure to medical, financial, or long-term care environments
  • • High school diploma or equivalent military experience; associate or bachelor’s degree preferred
  • • Demonstrated ability to complete intensive virtual classroom training while on-camera and actively participating for several consecutive months
  • • Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Teams) and the capacity to toggle efficiently between multiple monitors
  • • Working knowledge of medical terminology, disease diagnoses, contract interpretation, and HIPAA privacy standards
  • • Dedicated, distraction-free home office with secure, high-speed internet (minimum 50 mbps) located in an Eastern or Central Time Zone state

🏖️ Benefits

  • • Competitive base salary ranging from $43,200 to $66,400 plus a performance-based incentive target of 5% of base pay
  • • Comprehensive healthcare coverage (medical, dental, vision) and employer-paid disability, life, and long-term care insurance
  • • 401(k) with multiple investment options, auto-enrollment in an employer-funded retirement account feature, tuition reimbursement, and student-loan repayment assistance
  • • Generous paid time off package including 12 company holidays, volunteer time off, and paid family leave, plus wellness perks such as gym membership reimbursement and Employee Assistance Program resources
