- • As a Mainframe Sr. Software Engineer at Globe Life Insurance, you will play a critical role in developing, deploying, and supporting mainframe-based applications that meet the evolving needs of the business, contributing directly to the company’s mission of empowering employees and improving customer outcomes.
- • Day to day, you will coordinate with clients and IT teams to analyze system requests, develop specifications, design and modify programs, prepare and execute test plans, conduct problem analysis, provide on-call support, communicate technical and non-technical information, prepare documentation, serve as a project lead and mentor, and contribute to process improvements.
- • You will join a collaborative and innovative team within Globe Life Insurance, a company committed to fostering a respectful, supportive culture where employees are empowered to grow and make a meaningful impact in a remote work environment.
- • In this role, you will deepen your expertise in mainframe technologies, gain leadership experience as a project lead and mentor, expand your knowledge of modern integration practices like DevOps and CI/CD on mainframe, and strengthen your ability to deliver complex technical solutions in a regulated insurance industry.
🎯 Requirements
- • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Business Administration, or related field, or equivalent work experience
- • Recent and proficient Assembler coding experience
- • 8+ years of experience in system development and support for mainframe-based applications
- • Mastery of mainframe development tools: COBOL, Assembler, Easytrieve, JCL, CICS, VSAM, VSE/DOS, IBM z/OS
- • Experience with ISPF, TSO, debuggers, RMF, SyncSort, BIM, and MS Office (Word, Excel, Visio)
- • Working knowledge of SDLC methodologies including Waterfall, Agile, and Test-Driven Development
