- • The Manager of Coding Quality, Audit & Education provides enterprise leadership for coding accuracy, audit oversight, regulatory compliance, and coder/physician education across inpatient, outpatient, and professional services at Stanford Health Care.
- • Day-to-day responsibilities include developing and delivering coding education programs, conducting and coordinating audits, maintaining audit policies, preparing executive summaries, and serving as a subject matter expert on coding regulations such as ICD-10-CM/PCS, CPT, and HCPCS.
- • The role partners with the Office of Compliance & Privacy, Revenue Integrity, School of Medicine, and Finance to ensure ethical coding practices and compliance with federal, state, and payer-specific requirements.
- • The person in this role will lead a team of coding auditors and educators, drive continuous improvement in coding quality, and gain deep expertise in healthcare compliance, revenue cycle integrity, and clinical documentation standards within a leading academic medical center.
🎯 Requirements
- • Bachelor’s degree in a work-related field from an accredited institution; Master’s degree preferred.
- • 5–7 years of progressively responsible experience in coding, auditing, and education, with at least 2 years in those areas.
- • Active CCS (Certified Coding Specialist) certification required; RHIT, RHIA, CPC, or CCSP preferred.
- • Required EPIC experience; 3+ years in an academic medical center preferred.
- • Advanced knowledge of ICD-10-CM/PCS, CPT, HCPCS, MS/APR DRG, APC, and HIPAA; ability to interpret and apply coding guidelines and regulatory standards.
- • Demonstrated ability to analyze problems, communicate effectively, manage priorities, and lead teams in a healthcare environment.
