- • Dexcom, Inc. is seeking a Manager Finance to play a pivotal role in supporting strategic decision-making for its substantial ~$4 billion U.S. prescription business. This position is crucial for translating intricate commercial and financial data into actionable insights and robust forecasts that guide leadership. The role offers exceptional visibility, significant ownership, and the opportunity to exert considerable influence within the organization. You will engage directly with large datasets, develop and refine sophisticated forecasting and scenario models, and drive continuous improvements in the tools, data, and processes that are fundamental to executive decision-making. We are actively searching for a proactive individual who is a natural builder – someone who is not afraid to question the status quo, meticulously analyze data, and elevate the analytical standards for the entire team.
- • In this dynamic role, you will function as a key strategic finance partner, collaborating closely with Commercial leadership and a diverse range of cross-functional teams. This includes working hand-in-hand with Sales, Marketing, Strategy, Pricing, Supply Chain, and Analytics departments to ensure financial alignment and strategic support. A core responsibility will be owning the revenue forecasts for both current and future product lines, extending to comprehensive five-year projections. You will be tasked with transforming raw commercial and financial data into clear, concise, and impactful insights that directly influence executive-level decisions. This involves confidently and articulately presenting forecast assumptions, exploring various scenarios, and clearly outlining potential risks and opportunities.
- • A significant part of your day-to-day will involve building, maintaining, and enhancing complex forecasting and scenario models. This requires a deep and nuanced understanding of the underlying business drivers and assumptions that inform these models. You will also own the end-to-end analytical workflows, which will span from querying and validating extensive datasets to developing sophisticated models that predict outcomes and synthesizing these findings into actionable business intelligence. Depending on the specific needs of the analysis, this may necessitate writing and/or maintaining queries using languages such as SQL or similar tools to extract, join, and analyze data from multiple disparate sources. Furthermore, in close partnership with the Analytics and Business Intelligence teams, you will be instrumental in diagnosing data quality issues, reconciling any inconsistencies that arise, and proactively implementing measures to enhance data reliability and the accuracy of analytical outputs.
- • You will be empowered to challenge legacy assumptions, existing tools, and established workflows with a first-principles mindset. This proactive approach will drive continuous improvement initiatives aimed at significantly enhancing forecast accuracy and operational efficiency across the team. A key aspect of this management role involves actively managing and developing team members. This will be achieved by setting exceptionally high analytical standards and providing consistent coaching in both structured problem-solving methodologies and advanced technical thinking. You will also foster a team culture that emphasizes accountability, a commitment to learning, and a drive for continuous improvement in all aspects of financial analysis and forecasting.
- • This position offers a unique opportunity to be at the forefront of life-changing continuous glucose monitoring (CGM) technology. You will gain invaluable experience within an industry-leading organization that is deeply committed to its employees, its customers, and the communities it serves. The role provides substantial growth opportunities on a global scale, supported by access to comprehensive career development resources, including in-house learning programs and potential tuition reimbursement for qualified educational pursuits. You will be part of a vibrant and innovative environment, contributing to Dexcom's mission of improving human health through cutting-edge biosensing technology.
- • The Commercial Finance team at Dexcom is a high-impact group dedicated to providing critical financial support and strategic insights for the company's significant U.S. prescription business. This team plays a vital role in translating complex financial and commercial data into actionable intelligence, enabling informed strategic decision-making at the leadership level. The team is characterized by its collaborative spirit, analytical rigor, and a shared commitment to driving business growth and efficiency.
- • Success in this role means contributing directly to the financial strategy and operational efficiency of a rapidly growing, innovative company. You will develop advanced analytical and modeling skills, gain deep business acumen in the healthcare technology sector, and hone your leadership and influencing capabilities. The ability to drive change, improve processes, and mentor team members will be key achievements, positioning you for future growth within Dexcom.
🎯 Requirements
- • Bachelor’s degree with 8-12 years of industry experience, and 2-5 years of previous management or lead experience.
- • Advanced Excel skills with proven experience building robust, auditable financial and scenario models.
- • Hands-on experience querying data (e.g., SQL or similar) and working directly with databases, data warehouses, or analytics platforms.
- • Strong financial acumen with experience in forecasting, scenario modeling, and variance analysis.
- • Ability to operate effectively in ambiguity - framing the right questions, sourcing the right data, and building answers from the ground up.
🏖️ Benefits
- • A full and comprehensive benefits program.
- • Growth opportunities on a global scale.
- • Access to career development through in-house learning programs and/or qualified tuition reimbursement.
