- • Spreetail is seeking a highly analytical and strategic Manager, Merchandising Finance to join our dynamic team. This pivotal role sits at the critical intersection of financial planning and merchandising strategy, serving as a key financial partner to guide and influence critical business decisions within our rapidly growing e-commerce organization.
- • The primary responsibility of this position is to provide comprehensive financial analysis and strategic insights related to pricing strategies, product performance, and overall category profitability. You will be instrumental in developing, maintaining, and refining sophisticated financial models, forecasts, and dashboards that are essential for effective budgeting, meticulous assortment planning, and the successful launch of new products.
- • A core component of this role involves leveraging advanced analytical tools and techniques. You will be expected to utilize your expertise in SQL, Snowflake, and Power BI, alongside advanced Excel capabilities, to extract, manipulate, and interpret complex datasets. This will enable you to deliver actionable insights through rigorous Price, Volume, Mix (PVM) analysis, identify opportunities for margin optimization, and conduct thorough scenario planning to assess potential business outcomes.
- • You will collaborate closely and build strong relationships with a diverse range of cross-functional teams. This includes working hand-in-hand with Merchandising teams to align financial strategies with product assortment and category goals, partnering with Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) to ensure accurate forecasting and budgeting, liaising with Supply Chain to understand cost drivers and inventory implications, and collaborating with Marketing to assess the financial impact of promotional activities and go-to-market strategies.
- • This role demands a proactive approach to identifying financial risks and opportunities within the merchandising function. You will be responsible for developing and implementing financial controls and best practices to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and compliance.
- • You will play a key role in the budgeting and forecasting process for the merchandising department, providing detailed financial analysis and recommendations to support strategic planning and resource allocation.
- • The Manager, Merchandising Finance will be responsible for tracking and reporting on key performance indicators (KPIs) related to product and category performance, providing variance analysis and insights into deviations from plan.
- • You will contribute to the development and refinement of business cases for new product introductions, strategic initiatives, and market expansion, ensuring a robust financial evaluation is conducted.
- • This position requires a deep understanding of e-commerce retail dynamics, including inventory management, cost of goods sold (COGS), gross margin, and promotional effectiveness.

🎯 Requirements
- • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related quantitative field.
- • 5+ years of progressive experience in financial analysis, FP&A, or a similar finance role, with a strong preference for experience within the e-commerce or retail industry.
- • Proven proficiency in financial modeling, forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis.
- • Advanced skills in SQL for data extraction and manipulation, coupled with experience using data warehousing solutions like Snowflake.
- • Expertise in data visualization and business intelligence tools, specifically Power BI, for creating insightful dashboards and reports.
- • Strong command of advanced Microsoft Excel functions and techniques (e.g., pivot tables, VLOOKUP, complex formulas, macros).
- • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills with a keen attention to detail.
- • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively present complex financial information to both financial and non-financial stakeholders.
