- • As a Manager, GSO (Global Search Optimization) at WPP Media, you will be at the forefront of driving transformative growth for leading global brands through sophisticated search strategies. This pivotal role within WPP’s global media collective offers a unique opportunity to shape the future of search engine optimization in the rapidly evolving AI-search era. You will lead impactful GSO strategies for high-profile clients, where your expertise will directly translate into significant, measurable results and tangible business growth. This position reports to the Director, GSO, and is based in Hong Kong.
- • In your first three months, your primary focus will be to immerse yourself in WPP Media’s organizational processes and workflows, gaining a solid understanding of how we operate. You will take full ownership of existing GSO projects, ensuring their smooth execution and the delivery of measurable results that align with client objectives. A key aspect of this initial period will be building strong, collaborative relationships with key stakeholders across our various agencies and client accounts, establishing yourself as a trusted partner.
- • By the six-month mark, you will be expected to drive measurable growth for your clients, consistently exceeding their expectations through innovative and effective GSO strategies. A significant part of your role will involve integrating Artificial Intelligence into SEO workflows to unlock enhanced insights, leveraging both third-party tools and our proprietary SEO suite. Furthermore, you will play a crucial role in mentoring and training your team, fostering an environment of continuous improvement and ensuring they deliver exceptional work with outstanding time management and efficiency.
- • Looking ahead to your first 12 months, your success will be measured by the retention and growth of Agency GSO business and revenue targets. You will also be instrumental in developing our client training and workshop proposition, creating compelling credentials, sales collateral, and training materials that elevate our service offerings. This role is designed for individuals who are passionate about search, adept at managing complex projects, and eager to contribute to a dynamic and forward-thinking organization.
- • Your day-to-day responsibilities will encompass the effective delivery of client GSO services, either directly or by contributing to projects managed by other team members. This may involve communication with other WPP Media offices globally and external vendors, requiring strong cross-functional collaboration skills.
- • As an Agency Partner, you will be responsible for ensuring the delivery of existing business, maintaining high standards of quality and client satisfaction. You will proactively identify and build relationships with key stakeholders within the agencies, acting as a champion for GSO services. Your efforts will support and encourage new business development, helping to meet agency targets and expand our reach. You will also serve as an evangelist for our complete GSO offering within the Agencies, working to increase staff competencies for effective delivery and adoption.
- • In your Specialist Area, you will become a knowledge owner for SEO and AI Search, actively developing and sharing this expertise with the team. You will provide and lead the delivery of advanced search strategies, contributing to the ongoing development of GSO as a discrete, high-value offering that complements our existing agency content solutions.
- • Within Sales & Operations, you will refine our sales proposition and supporting processes to ensure seamless delivery of services. You will train, manage, mentor, and develop your direct reports, guiding them towards success in their roles and fostering their career growth. A key focus will be the identification of upsell and cross-sell opportunities within our agency offerings. You will collaborate closely with the Director, GSO, to create compelling sales proposals and support Requests for Proposals (RFPs) with tangible data references, demonstrating the value and impact of our GSO services.
- • This role is ideal for someone who sees the big picture while maintaining meticulous attention to detail and takes pride in accuracy. You will leverage a strong technical SEO foundation, including experience in conducting complex website audits. Proficiency in content creation and optimization in both Chinese and English is essential, with APAC experience being a significant advantage. You must be comfortable handling large datasets, effectively visualizing data into clear, actionable insights. A proactive and resourceful approach to learning, with a history of leveraging SEO and AI tools to track performance and streamline workflows, is highly desirable. Fluency in spoken and written English and Cantonese (Traditional/Simplified) is a requirement for this role, ensuring effective communication across diverse teams and client bases.
