- • Your primary responsibility will be to hire, develop, and lead an inclusive, engaged, and high-performing Sales Engineering team. This involves fostering a collaborative environment where team members can thrive and achieve their full potential.
- • You will meticulously manage individual and team performance, ensuring seamless and productive partnerships with our Sales, Product, Support, and Customer Success teams. Your oversight will guarantee efficiency and effectiveness across all collaborative efforts.
- • Collaborate closely with Regional Sales Managers on strategic account planning, developing winning sales strategies, and optimizing sales call activities to maximize customer engagement and conversion.
- • Act as a crucial point of contact for managing escalations, including product issues and feature requests, within a pre-sales context. Your ability to navigate and resolve these challenges will be vital to maintaining customer satisfaction and trust.
- • Serve as a trusted advisor to customers and prospects, participating actively in customer and prospect calls. You will leverage your technical expertise and business acumen to build confidence and demonstrate Samsara’s value proposition.
- • Partner with other Sales Engineering leaders across Samsara to contribute to the continuous improvement and scaling of the overall Sales Engineering organization. Your insights and collaboration will drive best practices and innovation.
- • This is a remote position open to candidates residing in Canada, specifically within the EST time zones. It requires a commitment to travel up to 50% of the time and proximity to an international airport to facilitate client engagements and team collaboration.

- • Develop and deliver compelling technical presentations and training sessions to both internal teams and external customers.

- • Analyze customer needs and translate them into effective technical solutions leveraging Samsara’s IoT platform, including Vehicle Telematics, Video-Based Safety, Equipment Monitoring, and connected workflows.
- • Ensure the successful technical implementation and adoption of Samsara solutions by collaborating with implementation and customer success teams.
- • Manage and prioritize a pipeline of technical engagements, ensuring timely and high-quality delivery for all assigned accounts.
- • Contribute to the development of sales enablement tools, technical documentation, and best practice guides for the Sales Engineering team.
- • Foster a culture of continuous learning and innovation within the Sales Engineering team, encouraging experimentation and knowledge sharing.
- • Drive technical pre-sales strategy for key enterprise accounts, working in close alignment with account executives and other stakeholders.
- • Oversee the technical qualification of opportunities, ensuring Samsara’s solutions are a strong fit for customer requirements and business goals.
- • Lead by example in demonstrating technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and a customer-centric approach in all interactions.
- • This role is critical in ensuring Samsara’s continued growth and success in the Canadian enterprise market, by building and leading a world-class Field Sales Engineering team.
🎯 Requirements
- • Bachelor’s of Science degree from a 4-year accredited university.
- • 5+ years of professional experience in hands-on engineering, pre-sales, customer success, or customer/product support capacity.
- • 3+ years of sales engineering management experience, with a proven track record of leading and developing technical teams.
- • Experience with Software Product sales, specifically in Infrastructure and SaaS environments.
- • Strong technical and business acumen, with the ability to understand complex technical concepts and translate them into business value.
- • Excellent communication, customer service, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and influence stakeholders at all levels.
- • Demonstrated leadership, creativity, and problem-solving abilities, coupled with excellent presentation and organizational skills.
- • Ability to travel as needed (up to 50%) and proximity to an international airport.
- • Knowledge in one or more of these areas of expertise: IoT, Networking/Security, SaaS, Cloud Technologies, or Physical Security.
- • Ability to partner with a broad coalition of stakeholders, ranging from sales, product, marketing, support, customer success and from individual contributors to executive team members across the organization.
- • Ability to work in a fast-paced dynamic environment.
- • Bachelor’s of Science degree or advanced education in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related discipline (Ideal).
- • Hobbyist interest in working with things driven by electronic systems (e.g., car audio installation/classic car restoration, home automation, building things with Raspberry Pi, Arduino, etc.) (Ideal).
