- • Lead the development and execution of market and competitive intelligence strategies to support Trustly’s global growth and strategic decision-making.
- • Monitor, analyze, and report on emerging trends, regulatory shifts, and technological innovations in the global payments and open banking sectors.
- • Identify and track key competitors, including fintechs, banks, and payment processors, assessing their product offerings, pricing models, market positioning, and customer acquisition strategies.
- • Collaborate with Product, Marketing, Sales, and Legal teams to translate intelligence into actionable insights that inform product roadmap priorities and go-to-market strategies.
- • Build and maintain comprehensive competitive intelligence dashboards and reporting frameworks using internal and external data sources.
- • Conduct deep-dive analyses on market entry opportunities, including regional payment behaviors, regulatory landscapes, and partner ecosystems across North America, Europe, and other key markets.
- • Serve as the primary internal advisor on competitive dynamics, providing executive summaries and presentations to senior leadership and board-level stakeholders.
- • Establish and nurture relationships with third-party research providers, industry analysts, and data vendors to enhance the quality and breadth of intelligence inputs.
- • Ensure all intelligence activities align with Trustly’s compliance and data privacy standards, particularly regarding financial data and consumer behavior.
- • Proactively anticipate market disruptions and flag potential threats or opportunities before they impact business performance.
- • Own the end-to-end process of intelligence gathering, validation, synthesis, and dissemination, ensuring timeliness, accuracy, and relevance.
- • Train and mentor junior analysts on best practices in competitive intelligence, data interpretation, and strategic reporting.
- • Work closely with regional teams to localize intelligence efforts and adapt global insights to regional market contexts.
- • Maintain a real-time understanding of Trustly’s own product performance metrics and customer feedback to contextualize competitive findings.
- • Present findings through structured reports, visual dashboards, and live briefings tailored to diverse stakeholder needs, from technical teams to C-suite executives.
- • Stay current on global financial regulations, including PSD2, open banking standards, and consumer protection laws impacting payment innovation.
- • Drive cross-functional alignment by ensuring intelligence outputs are integrated into quarterly business reviews, strategic planning cycles, and investor communications.
🎯 Requirements
- • Minimum of 5 years of experience in market research, competitive intelligence, or strategic analysis within fintech, payments, or financial services
- • Proven ability to synthesize complex data from diverse sources into clear, actionable strategic insights
- • Strong understanding of open banking, digital payments, and financial technology ecosystems
- • Experience working with global markets, particularly North America and Europe
- • Advanced proficiency in data analysis tools (e.g., Excel, Tableau, Power BI) and CRM/ERP systems
- • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with ability to present to senior leadership
